Q:

While you’re waiting for your Matadors……..

I thought I would share with you how I coped waiting for my Matadors. It’s a loooong story with a lot to learn. I started this thread back in June 2011 while still waiting, – and oddly enough it became one of the most viewed threads on this forum.

This is how it started:

As it happens, I am the lucky owner of a serious harem of nice guns. And I frequently visit my summerplace on the coast down south in Norway, where weather is the only restriction to my shooting….

Summernights are nice and light with sunset around 22hrs….:

So yesterday I quit Oslo for a few weeks. Fed up with my loooongish waiting for ED and friends to deliver I took 11 members of my harem with me.

Here they are:

As some of you may know, I test and review guns for our Norwegian forum, and this time a comparison of springers is on the agenda….

So go ahead and name them, from left to right…….

And yes. There will be a more in depth test of Lelya 090 who has got new glasses for the occasion…….. šŸ˜‰

Life is too short to sit put and wait……… šŸ˜€

Thanks Kazzz. I will keep an eye on that Falcon. I like the extra mil dots.

Still looking for a hign end scope with extra mil dots.

@ OG:

– and you certainly answered you co-pervert !!! šŸ˜€

Honestly I am impressed, – in fact very much so !!! 😯

Thanks a million !!!!!

But what about mounts ? High or medium ?

I’m using high on the Lelya for comfort when shouldering the thing, – and I am considering high also for the R3s……. šŸ™„

I’m using chairgun a lot, – but it’s no good under win7 unfortunately and Iphone I never had. Can’t see the stupid thing without glasses……. 😳

Looking forward to the discussion about wind and pellets. I’m not so sure that .25 are the best, but again Idon’t have that much of experience with .25 in windy conditions……

Cheers from Lanzarote where beaches have been shut down due to algal bloom and acitivity……… šŸ‘æ

I have the TAC 30 6,5-20×42 also…
For me it is just great except it doesn’t have FFP.
This one has:

http://www.falconoptics.com/5.5-25x50FFP.php

A couple months I looked through it and it gave me a crystal clear image at 25 and the True Mildot is awesome!

So you don’t need to the true mills calculation anymore when you are on 10 or 15 or 25x!!

On the other hand, if money is no problem, go to Zeiss or Swarovski (almost the same). They have the best glass and results in bad light too!

(or Ior, with I think has the best reticle)

reticle:

EDIT: If I had the money, I pick the IOR…

Hi Loco, you pervert! šŸ˜†

I had a Hawke Sidewinder 30 Tactical 6.5 – 20 X 42 on my R2.5 25 cal. I wanted a ā€œbetterā€ scope for it. I did a lot of reading and mostly based on some of the clown’s opinions, on the Yellow, I bought a Bushnell Tactical like the one that you have.

When it arrived, I noticed that it was shorter and lighter than the Hawke. Put it on and went to the range. I thought that the reticle and mil dots were too coarse for precise 100 yard shooting. It didn’t have enough mil dots for long range shooting. I also didn’t like that the knobs weren’t locking.

The Bushnell was clearer and brighter than the Hawke.

Sighted in at 50 yards and using 20 X, the Bushnell’s last mil dot was on at 87 yards. I would have to either reduce mag or use clicks to shoot at 100 yards. Clicking it up for a last mil dot POI, the mil dot would cover the 25 cal pellet hole. I didn’t like that either. I knew that it was just a matter of time till I lost track of the number of clicks that I turned and then I would be ā€œfucked up like Hogan’s goatā€!

Using the Hawke’s reticle, again at 20 X, I am good for out to 115 yards. On the Hawke scope, 100 yards, at 20X, is 4 ½ mil dot bars down. I know that this sounds confusing, go to the Hawke website and download Chairgun. Play with it.

I use Chairgun to print out charts for 2 Ā½ā€scope caps, at 20 X and 10 X, cut them into rectangles and tape them to the side of my Edguns. I also have the Chairgun app for my Iphone. It gives me yardages for the 2 other mil dot boxes. That gets me out to 134 yards at 20X. 10X is good for 160 yards and using the Iphone app, the last mil dot box is 190 yards.

The Chairgun software doesn’t give yardages for the mil dot boxes. When I first got the Iphone app, it didn’t either. The next Iphone app upgrade did have it. I emailed Hawke and asked why the app had yardages for the boxes and Chairgun didn’t? The software designer emailed me back and said that the next revision will have it.

I was at a buddy’s house and we were shooting starlings out of a tree at 80 yards and another tree at 100 yards. The tree was on a finger of a pond that my buds house was built next to. Another buddy of mine was using my 22 Edgun and I was using my 25. Most people were half drunk, (I hadn’t had a beer, believe it or not) and I was challenged to hit a 3ā€ square stump that was sticking out of the water. My range finder said that it was 182 yards. I used my Iphone and found that 179 yards was at the top of the first mil box at 8X. I had never tried a shot that far. I used a slight bit of hold over and hit the stump the first 4 shots. I knew that I was hitting the stump as there was at least 50 yards of water around it and if I missed, I would have seen the splash.

I missed the next shot and then hit the next 5. I was amazed that I even hit it once! What really pisses me off is that I had my camera mounted on the gun and didn’t think about turning it on!

I gave $640 for the Bushnell. I put it on the 25 a couple of times and tried to get use to it. I ended up selling it for $400, bought another Hawke. I would pay big money for a GOOD scope that had the Hawke 20X ½ mil dot reticle and would support Chairgun! I don’t know of any thing out there that will.

That damned trouble making Nik šŸ˜† asked on the Yellow, what scope people recommended. A lot of people said that the Bushnell Tactical was the scope to get. I posted that I liked the Hawke. They really let me have it! 😯

Nik actually called me up tonight and we talked “BB Guns”. He said that he had bought a Hawke HK 4026, the scope that I am talking about, and he said that he really liked the reticle.

It just occured to me that Ted in Madison uses the Hawke 6.5-20 X 42 scope also. I am sure that you have seen his scope camera videos. They will give you an idea of what the reticle looks like.

Sorry for the long post but, you asked! šŸ˜†

Looking at everybody elses nice toys that are now arriving, – it feels even more odd to sit here and wait……. 😄

But those who wait etc. etc. etc………… šŸ˜‰

I am still waiting for ED’s explanation though, – and I am beginning to feel just a little bit uneasy about it. All facts should have been established by now, – so I see no reason why he holds back…. šŸ™„

—————

Now something totally different:’

Scopes: What kind of scopes do you use guys ? I’ll be using Bushnell 6-24×50 Tactical on mine once I get them, and I noticed Tachdriver does the same…….

Any other good suggestions ?

And mounts: Judging from Tachdriver’s brilliant pictures, – he seems to be using high mounts on his std. cal.22. and medium on the R3 (I may be wrong……….. 😳 ).

What about you guys, what kind of mounts ?

More pictures of her please!!!

Most likely because it is the visual reincarnation of a world class hangover, and waking up next to ‘Ol Horse-Face…Sarah Jessica Parker!

Thanks Jag, – for putting us back on track………. šŸ˜‰

About visuals: Having lived with cameras for more than 50 years, I never stop wondering why some visuals trigger very strong sentiments and others don’t……

Some visuals do never “expire”, – and are timeless in their ability to provoke. Others come and go like wind in the desert………

We see pictures of people dying in Africa every day, – yet we as a race do not seem to react much. We see pictures of rainforests and wildlife habitat being polluted beyond the point of rehabilitation. Again with veeery limited reaction. Floods and Tsunamis are easily forgotten and their victims too…….

But this simple little visual of some lovers’ leftovers certainly has an ability to provoke and create storms wherever it turns up. It is a very simple and straight forward picture of medium technical quality…..

Why is this particular visual so provoking when faces of starving children are not ? šŸ™„

Eew!!
That’s a visual none of us needed! YUK!!! What hell is wrong with you Zoco? You been hitting the bottle tonight? Jeezuz!! You’ll regret that post when you sober up!!

Who you calling “semi-senile”…..I never went half way on anything I did, or caught, or have!!!

I got a bladder infection from an old lawn mower accident, and my Lithium levels got a little too low. When that happens my memory gets a little vague and my balls shrivel up. I guess I shouldn’t have taken my laptop to the Sanitarium, but my psychiatrist said to bring something to keep my mind occupied, and to quit demanding enemas from the prettier nurses.

Anyhow, I’m home now and recognize my wife and some of the neighbors. The doc said eventually I wouldn’t be able to recognize my wife. I asked him if there was any medication to either speed that up, or make me go deaf. He told me to relax, as I was making good progress without the meds.

Well, I’m going to either eat breakfast, or take a piss. But first I have to remember where I put the milk. I gotta be careful, cause the last time I pissed in the milk and went back to bed.

Regards to all….

Kindly ‘Ol Uncle H 😯 😯 T

Hey Hoot, you semi senile and 100 % crazy old fuck!

That wasn’t this oldgoat that used any kind of electronic add ons! From early spring, all summer and into late fall, I don’t have time for a woman, except for the occasional bar pickup on times that the weather is going to be too nasty to shoot the next day!

On those occasions, a couple of shots of Calvert Extra gives me a ā€œwhiskey hard onā€ that you couldn’t scratch with a wildcat! I don’t know if it would work for you ancient people but, you might want to give it a try! It would be cheaper than meds and a lot more fun also.

If you try real hard, you might be able to remember what wild sex was!

Eddieirving is a machinists, I am a shootist! I can make a few parts at work but, I haven’t had any training and it takes me a few tries to get something usable.

Spring, summer and fall, my life can be broken down into 4 parts.

1) Work, because I have to, it pays the bills and buys new Edguns.
2) Shoot my Edguns when ever possible!
3) When not at work and I can’t shoot, I bar hop or stay at home and
drink beer, either way, I can keep up with you demented fucks here
on the TAG!
4) Sleep, if I get the chance.

Loco, why are you ganging up with Hoot to rain on my parade?

Don’t be hating! You will get your Edguns!

……. and a Li-On battery pack that compression fits in the crack between their butt cheeks.

“Odd behavior. We all misplace our keys from time to time. People with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias are prone to placing objects in odd and wholly inappropriate places. They might put a toothbrush in the fridge or milk in the cabinet under the sink.

If your loved one is exhibiting any of these Alzheimer’s warning signs, don’t panic. Having these symptoms doesn’t mean that your loved one necessarily has Alzheimer’s disease. But you need to schedule an appointment with the doctor for an evaluation.”

I may add that I beg and pray that no pictures will ever surface of this new invention………….

šŸ˜‰

Do you suppose Ed has gone into the ED business? That might account for some of these ads.

Perfect opportunity if you ask me. Eddieirving and Old Goat need no help, as they are both machinists, and have advised me of a mechanical setup they use as a marital aid. It will also fill a 500 cc PCP on the side, so it’s dual function. Patent pending….

They had a few setbacks, such as a highly salty environment causing rust. Eddie said they tried stainless steel…but that made Old Goat’s pants bag down in front. Eventually they settled on epoxy coated aluminum, and carbon fiber, and a Li-On battery pack that compression fits in the crack between their butt cheeks.

You gotta love those Lithion-Ion batteries, can be made into any shape you need, and they still work just fine.

Old Goat mentioned he learned the hard way to insulate the leads…he passed some hefty gas and there was a small explosion. He’s all right. Said most of the hair on his butt cheeks, and lower back, has grown back already.

Kindest regards,

Uncle Hoot 😯
