Q:

While you’re waiting for your Matadors……..

I thought I would share with you how I coped waiting for my Matadors. It’s a loooong story with a lot to learn. I started this thread back in June 2011 while still waiting, – and oddly enough it became one of the most viewed threads on this forum.

This is how it started:

As it happens, I am the lucky owner of a serious harem of nice guns. And I frequently visit my summerplace on the coast down south in Norway, where weather is the only restriction to my shooting….

Summernights are nice and light with sunset around 22hrs….:

So yesterday I quit Oslo for a few weeks. Fed up with my loooongish waiting for ED and friends to deliver I took 11 members of my harem with me.

Here they are:

As some of you may know, I test and review guns for our Norwegian forum, and this time a comparison of springers is on the agenda….

So go ahead and name them, from left to right…….

And yes. There will be a more in depth test of Lelya 090 who has got new glasses for the occasion…….. πŸ˜‰

Life is too short to sit put and wait……… πŸ˜€

Klojo…..quit showing off!!!

Uncle H 😯 😯 T

Talking of fill-nipples, these would seam to fill anybody’s… mouth 😳

πŸ˜†

The Eddy one! Ready for action!! πŸ™‚

Dear Uncle Hoot,

As fill-nipples are an important device in our lives, – I have taken the liberty of posting pictures of a few of mine.

This is one of my favorites. It’s a universal design copyrighted to the undersigned and may be too heavy for our forum management (Mods: Please remove if found offensive…. πŸ˜‰ )

and then these, – which by all means are fill-nipples but less effective but probably the only ones you’ll ever see up in your woods:

Which one do you prefer ? πŸ˜€

Cheers from sunny Lanzarote ……. πŸ˜‰

No to wish anyone hardship, but I’m going to miss this thread after our friend Trygve receives his Edguns.

Moreso, I will miss the pictures….

Dear Trygve, I hope you sprayed that warthog with something stronger than flour before you had your way with her, as noted by the bruise on her left abdomen…she looks a bit “infected” to me. Possibly was fed some bad grain??

Regards,

Poor old, Uncle H 😯 😯 T

PS: I just had a horrible thought…that’s not a “hickey” is it? That would be wrong…wrong in every sense of the word. Have your gums checked soon…I fear for your oral health!

zocoloco,

Thank you for getting that information man, so whats the latest update on the Ed’s !?

When are you getting back to collect them !?

I am scheduled to return to Oslo on Nov.21st. The German shipping company has confirmed they will hold my parcel until I advice them to send it…….

And just to further clarify what happened, – the below email from Andrej to the German shippers dated Sept 6th this year should put it all in perspective:

It translates into:

“Good morning Mr. xxxxxxxxx

Thanks for your message.

I have checked the tracking number. The parcel will be delivered to you this morning.

Please forward the parcel to Norway as soon as possible. Potential additional costs will not represent a problem. Mr (Trygve) is leaving on Sept 10th.

I hope for your help….

Yours friendly
Andrej Pesterov”

This was written on Sept 6th, – long after Andrej himself had blamed the Germans for the delay and messing it all up and accusing them of having “lost” the parcel in their warehouse……

ED’s somewhat peculiar comment in his above post about my ability to trust is a bit difficult to swallow after all this………

But he has promised to come back to us once he has got all the facts…..

I am looking forward to that……… πŸ˜‰

Cheers
Trygve πŸ˜€

Another restriction in England is rifle length from what I read, so anything below 64cm requires some kind of license, can anyone confirm that? Maybe that’s why he got the Long Matador ?!?

Naser

Hi Naser,

As I understand it, this is the UK-rule:

“The 1997 Firearms Amendment Act made handguns illegal in the UK but Air Weapons were excluded under Section 5 (1) subsection (aba) “a prohibited weapon includes a firearm with a barrel length less than 30cms and an overall length less than 60cms, other than an air weapon, a muzzle loading gun, or a firearm designed as signalling apparatus”.

Even the short Matador would be in the clear if what is specified here is correct:

http://www.edgun.ru/en/cat/guns_01.php

But rules may have changed for all I know……… πŸ™„

Cheers from Lanzarote where right now you don’t need an airgun to shoot your pellets. You just throw them up in the air and off they go:

Even an Edgun would suffer under conditions like this……… πŸ˜₯

lol, that comment: with 14gr pellets πŸ™‚

The EDgun that arrived in UK is certainly real enough:

He got it on Aug 4th this year, – and its a cal .22 R3……….. πŸ˜‰

πŸ˜€

@ OldG:

I am familiar with the UK gun-laws and restrictions. What surprises me is that they are allowed to hunt at all with guns hardly able to spit out a pellet. I have a few of those sub 12 ft/lbs guns as members of my harem. For the cal.22 ones, you don’t need a chronograph to measure velocity, – a stop watch does almost the same job…… πŸ˜‰

Now to the EDgun mentioned above: Apparently the story is true. The gun arrived around Aug 4th after three weeks of transit. The buyer even posted a picture of it on a UK forum…..

More details to follow once I have made contact with the guy…. πŸ˜‰

Cheers……. πŸ˜€

Hey Loco, I think that guy is full of shit! I tried for around 2 years to get a BSA barrel shipped from England to me in the US. England has very restrictive gun laws. Basically, if an air rifle has enough power to push a pellet out of the barrel, you need a FAC license to buy, own or modify it. You need to be registered to own anything above 12 FPE.

England’s laws also specify that an air rifle barrel is included in the regs. It could only be shipped to a registered gun shop and would have to be checked off of the buyers FAC card. In spite of my best efforts, I could not get a BSA barrel shipped out of England.

If I could not get an air rifle barrel shipped out of England, how in the hell is someone getting an Edgun shipped into England?

Scotland does not have the same laws; I got a BSA barrel from Leupy.

By the way, UPS says that my package is scheduled for delivery by 3 PM Friday. I WILL track the driver and have it by 10 AM!

I am confused now …… 😳

On the BSA Forum this came out of the blue today:

Apparently some people have received their R3s already, – which by all means is good……

But how did Ed manage to ship to UK ?

And not to us/me ?

Ed ?????

Cheers from a somewhat confused
Trygve πŸ˜€

Dear Koljonik,

I already have a bore-snake…… πŸ˜†

Maybe OldGoat could benefit from your offer ? If he’s getting his R3 long that is……. πŸ™„

That said, I am saddened to see how you feed your woman in Bulgaria. I know life is hard out there, – but I had no idea it was this bad…. 😯

The Russians have a lot going for them, – and on their forum I found this which pretty much describes why I like EDguns so much.

There is something about the size that really appeals to me …..! πŸ˜‰

Cheers
Trygve πŸ˜€
