While you’re waiting for your Matadors……..
I thought I would share with you how I coped waiting for my Matadors. It’s a loooong story with a lot to learn. I started this thread back in June 2011 while still waiting, – and oddly enough it became one of the most viewed threads on this forum.
This is how it started:
As it happens, I am the lucky owner of a serious harem of nice guns. And I frequently visit my summerplace on the coast down south in Norway, where weather is the only restriction to my shooting….
Summernights are nice and light with sunset around 22hrs….:
So yesterday I quit Oslo for a few weeks. Fed up with my loooongish waiting for ED and friends to deliver I took 11 members of my harem with me.
Here they are:
As some of you may know, I test and review guns for our Norwegian forum, and this time a comparison of springers is on the agenda….
So go ahead and name them, from left to right…….
And yes. There will be a more in depth test of Lelya 090 who has got new glasses for the occasion…….. 😉

Hey Nik, I have thermal under wear for the really important bits. I just can not do good shooting with gloves on. I guess that REALLY accurate shooting is beyond you BSA owners! 😆
My 25 cal long developed an air leak. It was losing around 40 bar an hour. I thought that I needed to change the air valve out. They are only good for 5000-7000 shots on the 25 cal longs. After putting my last spare air valve in, it turned out to be the front regulator O ring. I guess that it is only good for 16,000 – 18,000 shots. 🙁 😆
I had one spare air valve and asked Tony if he would sell me a couple. He told me that he thought that he had a couple; he would have to do a search. Got a reply that he found one and did I want it? I told him yes and also told him that when he gets notification of my R3 25 long being shipped to please let me know so I could send the rest of the money in.
He replied back that there is a shipment of Edguns that just made customs in Orlando Florida and that my R3 25 long is supposed to be in that shipment!
I work 2nd shift and got his reply about 1 hour before I had to leave for work. I immediately went into full panic mode! I got the USPS money orders in the mail and still made it to work on time. I was so excited that I was actually shaking! I didn’t settle down till I had been at work for an hour or so. In retrospect, I should be ashamed of the way I was acting today. A 59 year old acting like a kid on Christmas eve. Fuck that! My Edgun has come in! 😆
Sent Tony an email that I had sent the rest of the money and got a reply that his invoice says that there is a R3 25 long in the shipment but, he won’t know for sure till he sees it. He also said that he will send a truck out Saturday to pick the shipment up.
If the infamous “Loco Luck” doesn’t bite me in the ass, I could have my R3 by next weekend!

Old goat is not worried about the Edgun being inacurate in the cold. He is more concerned about some of his members shrinking too much in freezing temperatures to perform adequately… I mean his indexing finger not having the right length to pull the trigger in winter 😉

Hi Ed. I was giving Loco a hard time and when I posted it, I saw that you had posted.
I WILL PAY THE EXTRA SHIPPING! It will be getting too cold to do accurate shooting here soon and I can’t afford to travel to warmer climates to shoot like some of the rich people here can.
Hoot lives in a warmer climate, and he is just a few hundres miles south but, I don’t want to have to wear a chastity belt just to shoot the R3! 😯

As for Germans, to whom Trygver trust so much and has no doubt in them. Andrey send guns for Tony to U.S. via them. Germans couldn’t send them directly to him, I have no idea why, and had nothing better then send them by OTHER way, to OTHER town for Tony’s name. All 11 guns, by two parcels at the same time, to the same name, though they were worried about that, not to send few parcels to the same person to the same address since that will cost more (the custom fees etc.) They just ignored that, didn’t informed Andrey about it and did it on their own way. Nice, now we have to pay more for them. Should I put that extra price for the clients? Since German will never pay it, I am sure.
I know Trygver trust more Western people then us, that is his life, and that is just facts.
I am looking for the other way of sending gun without them. Hope I will be in a success.

I don’t think that UPS ground service moves the packages that fast from here to the state of Lincoln…
