While you’re waiting for your Matadors……..
I thought I would share with you how I coped waiting for my Matadors. It’s a loooong story with a lot to learn. I started this thread back in June 2011 while still waiting, – and oddly enough it became one of the most viewed threads on this forum.
This is how it started:
As it happens, I am the lucky owner of a serious harem of nice guns. And I frequently visit my summerplace on the coast down south in Norway, where weather is the only restriction to my shooting….
Summernights are nice and light with sunset around 22hrs….:
So yesterday I quit Oslo for a few weeks. Fed up with my loooongish waiting for ED and friends to deliver I took 11 members of my harem with me.
Here they are:
As some of you may know, I test and review guns for our Norwegian forum, and this time a comparison of springers is on the agenda….
So go ahead and name them, from left to right…….
And yes. There will be a more in depth test of Lelya 090 who has got new glasses for the occasion…….. 😉

Zoco it’s been an interesting post here in Tag and I did really enjoy reading it all and also felt bad you had all this waiting to do! But you are a good man I can tell that from your post I mean that! And if you want to adpot me and don’t mind the company of an old guy hanging around, you can adopt me for free just take me to all your paradise places you been staying at! 😯 😯 I also clean and do dishes after out crab and fish dinner with wine! I will be waiting for you guns to be in your hands, then you can call me and tell me my plane ticket is on its way! any one of the places I seen you post is fine by me 😯 😯

So finally some good news !
At least now I know where my guns are and that the packet exists…. 😀
The below was received today from the German shipping company. It’s an email in German from them to Andrej with a cc to me:
Translates into:
“Dear Mr Pesterov,
The weapons in accordance with the attached have now arrived here with us.
Dear Mr. ………
Kindly advice when we shall forward these to you……”

More or less exactly one year after I paid, – and looong after Ed/Andrej had confirmed they already were in Germany.
A somewhat “bittersweet” piece of information though. My guns arrived in Germany way too late for me to take delivery right away. I have previously explained the situation to the Germans, and they have promised to keep the parcel for me until further notice……
In reality I have not received the guns yet, – but in theory at least, – the final leg should be an easy one….. 😉
It will most likely take place around 20th November upon my scheduled return from Lanzarote……
How I shall be coping down there in the sun while waiting, I don’t know… 🙄
I’ll think of something……… 😉

I still think that Ed is a stand up guy that has been caught in the middle of a bunch of bullshit!
Trygve; I spent some time looking back in my emails and I found out that I ordered my R3 25 long 1-11-2011. It sure seems like it has been a hell of a lot longer than that! I really thought that I ordered it last September.
I guess old men have no concept of time lapse.

apology accepted and not really necessary!! from one “senior citizen” to another, i know that sometimes my hand starts doing s__t before my brain is fully in gear. it sure is nice to be able to play the old man/memory card- been there, done that. i sincerely hope Zoco gets his rifles soon and i don’t think Ed is the problem. as someone said above- when you are dealing with customs/government officials in 3 countries- well, bad things are bound to happen!

It is not going to happen now though, – simply because there’s no way for them to get here before I leave….. 😥 Something I have had hopes for based on Ed’s previous communications that you all have seen…. 😉
For me and may be for others this is a great learning experience. And Koljo is dead on target. To be left in complete darkness is the worst part…. 😥
It feels weird to see other getting their guns while mine are lost in God knows what. Ed himself mentioned South Africa, – and there are also a few guys on here that have received theirs. Why not me ? Did they order before me ? 🙄
Anger, frustration and shouting never made the world any better though, so I’ll try to avoid that in future. After all, I am partly responsible myself. I took a chance and ordered the pieces based on my wonderful experience with the Lelya. And I did that with my eyes open. I am pleased that I was the one to get this experience and not somebody else with a weaker financial backbone……..
This thread is rapidly making its’ way up towards the top 10 on this forum. Which is good in the sence that a lot of people around the world follow the subject with interest……
This should provide Ed with a podium from which he can show us all what he is made of.
I feel confident he will……..

I bought a Marauder from Greg Davis and had him modify it. It was susposed to take him a month to get out of his shop and sent to me.
It was almost 10 months before I got it! He had to have been months behind when I ordered mine. I started calling and emailing him at around the 4 month mark. Once in a while, I would get his wife on the phone and she would ask Greg where I was on the build list. I would always be a couple of guns out.
At 9 months, I called and asked for my money back. I got the gun in another 1 1/2 weeks.
I would bet that the current shipping problems are driving Ed nuts! I also believe that Ed and Tony are doing everything possible to get the guns to us.
But the fact of the matter remains that Zoco has also done his part & than some & its easier to talk than be in his shoe.
I bet that waiting for the Edguns doesn’t hurt Zoco anywhere near as much as not knowing what is going on. I think this is downright cruel and he doesn’t deserve it no matter how many houses, guns, boats, shoes or girlfriends he has.

My concern arose when someone posted selected parts of this discussion on other forums. Taken out of context, this can easily give the man an undeserved bad reputation.
I think a lot of Ed. I hope to visit him in Florida. He once personally answered a post I placed when an O ring blew out around my barrel to breech interface on my short Matador, and he answered it immediately. He gave me clear instructions and I cleared the problem in less than five minutes.
You don’t get that kind of service from AF or Crosman.
Zoco is more patient than I can imagine anyone else being. He is right to be upset and frustrated.
I hope his guns arrive very soon so we can put this matter to rest.

I am 100% confident that Ed will deliver, that was never the issue nor dispute.
Ed has “always” been a one man show which is very hard yet I never ever seen him not reply to a topic or provide technical support which is obviously very tough but only prove his honesty & reputation.
I just think that Ed himself isn’t sure what’s going on thats all.
But the fact of the matter remains that Zoco has also done his part & than some & its easier to talk than be in his shoe.

Life throws curves at all of us from time to time, for no good reason, and often times the result of a combination of errors that just happen to come together at the same time…especially when you have four nations, assorted Customs laws, work ethics, and languages in the mix!
This isn’t Ed’s doing!
This is life, and it doesn’t always work out the way we want it. Sometimes we all have to realize we, personally, are not in charge of anything. Chance, happenstance, luck, bad decisions by anyone in the transportation link, all could have resulted in this mess.
Don’t blame Ed!!! He’s never done anything but personally try to resolve all our problems. That’s asking a lot for a guy that’s running a worldwide business that can’t keep up with demand.
It ok for all of us to have an opinion of the cause, just don’t be arrogant enough to believe your particular opinion is any more correct than someone else’s opinion. None of us know all the facts.
Zoco will get his Edguns, I’d bet my life on that. It may not be when he wants, or expected them, but he will get them!
I’ve bought two Edguns. Had to wait for both of them for months. It was worth the wait, no updates, they simply came when they came, and I was glad when I got them.
I’m telling you…Ed WILL come through with the order!!!
