While you’re waiting for your Matadors……..
I thought I would share with you how I coped waiting for my Matadors. It’s a loooong story with a lot to learn. I started this thread back in June 2011 while still waiting, – and oddly enough it became one of the most viewed threads on this forum.
This is how it started:
As it happens, I am the lucky owner of a serious harem of nice guns. And I frequently visit my summerplace on the coast down south in Norway, where weather is the only restriction to my shooting….
Summernights are nice and light with sunset around 22hrs….:
So yesterday I quit Oslo for a few weeks. Fed up with my loooongish waiting for ED and friends to deliver I took 11 members of my harem with me.
Here they are:
As some of you may know, I test and review guns for our Norwegian forum, and this time a comparison of springers is on the agenda….
So go ahead and name them, from left to right…….
And yes. There will be a more in depth test of Lelya 090 who has got new glasses for the occasion…….. 😉

Would it be cost prohibitive to fly to Estonia and pick them up?
You have friends all over the world, why not have one of them receive the shipment for you?

Crap Zoc is that a piece of shit or what!! I am telling you these custom things like everything else always makes it impossible for us average people to get or do anything! they seem to have all the customs and borders and check stations all over the place! but guess what the bad guys just figure out a way!!! 😯 😯 WTF!!

Now, Sweden is a short 2 hours drive from here. BUT there is no way I can pick up my guns from Sweden. Norway and Sweden have very different regulations on airguns. Sweden has a strict power limit (7,4 ft/lbs/ 10 Joule) whereas Norway has no limitations whatsoever. Meaning my guns would be illegal in Sweden. (Andrey should know that…..)
Also in Norway you need your guns registered with the Police if above .177 and an import permit. I have my permits (lots of them), – but they are not valid in Sweden……..
Imagine, – only two hours away…….

“Hawkeyes” may even spot a car (or three actually) to the far left…
Just behind the beach is a famous hunting terrain for rabbits. You even get paid for those in restaurants……….
Tastes a bit like chicken……..
A perfect place for a Matador……….
And for surfers…..
Nothing between the beach and the USA but the Atlantic Ocean…..
It sometimes gets very rough out there………. 😉
now that is going to be good no doubt about it 😯 one fish one bottle of wine and then a nap at one of your fantastic places! I think it might be heaven!!

Ahh Lanzarote! I also loved reading the Spanish airgun permit, however I wish a permit would not be so necessary. I have always enjoyed the Guardia Civil! Those are some bad ass guys (and you always see them in pairs).
I saw them all over Spain. They have a propensity for showing up at just the right moment of trouble or just hanging out at important places like the Metro in Madrid while always carrying their fully auto machine guns!
That really sucks about the shipping firm being on vacation for 3 weeks! August is a bad time to get much done in the parts of Europe I’ve been to. I know that in Spain and Italy, it’s pretty much a required month off for nearly everyone!
I am guesing some sort of stripped something? on the fish! I love to fish but keeping up with some other things in life I don’t have much time! but 😯 I am hoping this will change by next summer, I also want to do some things I like while I still can this getting old shit ain’t for sizzies!!
I know the area well as my grandfather was born in Tenerife and the rest of my grandparents are Spaniards. Very nice retreat indeed! 😉

I am based in Lanzarote where I have a small house that I bought in the late 70ies…
I even hold a spanish airgun permit:
Spain is GAMO land and its difficult to find anything exiting gunwise, – so I was hoping to be able to bring at least one of my Matadors and get it registered with my friends at Guardia Civil……
I am afraid I shall have to rethink now……

Remember what Ed wrote to me the first time they tried shipment to me out of Estonia. I got this from Ed on Nov. 21st last year:
“Hi, Trygve,
I have bad news, you guns were arrested by the Estonia police at the
post office. We are trying to solve the situation now but I will
assemble two new guns to delivery you as soon as possible. Sorry for
the delay.

As I understand it, a license is required for .22 guns in Estonia which the sender did not have. There are also other issues related to Estonia and that particular shipment (all according to ED, I have a long email correspondance with him regarding the above incident).
While the price for an air-ticket to Estonia (it’s actually very cheap) is easy to digest for me, – a potential stay in an Estonian Jail resulting from trying to smuggle weapons out of the country may be less tasty……
Also to take any gun onboard an airplane is a problem in itself. If you want to do it legally that is……..

The problem is not on the receiving side. In Norway it is completely legal to import high powered air-guns as long as you have the proper permit. And I have. Lots of them actually. The problem seems to be on the Estonian side (if at all my guns have reached Estonia). I have emailed Andrey (ED’s official rep. in Estonia) and asked for the exact location of my guns right now, – unfortunately with no reply……….
I have also asked for the contact details of the company in Germany which is said to be on holiday. Again with no reply…..

One should think so. Especially if the guns really are in Germany. Germany ships high powered air-guns (Weirauch HW100 is one, Diana is another) as well as powder burners all over the world all the time. Also to Norway, – and that’s without any problems whatsoever….
A bit higher up in this thread I have quoted Andrey’s offer to DPD from Estonia to Sweden with a time frame of 2-3 days. An offer which in itself is strange when my guns are said to be in Germany…..
Also under DPD regulations fire-arms are not permitted……
There are lots of things here I simply don’t understand…….. 🙄
