Q:

100 YARD .25 CALIBRE CONTEST!!

I thought we should start a dedicated thread to the contest mam’ 😀
‘goat you fucker, you better repost your outrageous groups again in this thread mate…. 😡 😆

Today, after mowing my Ma’s lawns, and then having to use the strimmer(I think you guys call them weed whackers?) to clear 4ft X 300ft corridor, in absoultely appaling side winds ranging from about 5mph to 30mph, I managed this effort at 100 yards……
I was shooting prone, but was very wobbly with no back support.
This rig will without doubt shoot a sub 1″ group, probably tighter than that, but I need a good rest and some calm weather…
I only shot 3 five round groups ‘cos the wind was so high, this was the best..
Will be back to my Ma’s farm on Thurs so should hopefully have some better conditions to shoot in.

Good shootin’ OG!!
Shotgun shell base at 101yrds! 😯 😎 😎

Nice video and nice shooting Tedd… can’t beat that for 100yds….
Here is a still frame of the pellet in flight…

Hi Pabs, no it is this one.

I watched them a few more times last night. I am very impressed with the video quality. When I do figure out how to edit them, I am going to tone down the CLANG the Matador makes when it shoots! It sounds like a Chinese POS! 😯 I have a de pinger installed, I might have to redo it.

I was in a hurry last night and hadn’t loaded the Sony software yet. My videos are in mpeg-2 but, they open with some off of the wall video player. I can watch them but, if I load them on Photobucket, I don’t think anyone else would be able to see them.

Corel vidieo studieo 11 won’t open them. I think that I might try putting them on Photobucket and see if they will work.

I will use the Sony software from now on! 😳

I just got one video uploaded to Photobucket and It works! Note to self: Quit muttering and groaning while shooting video, you sound like an idiot! 😆

12 ga shotgun shels at 101 yards:

Is this the Sony Hi-speed video camera jobbie??
Looking forward to seeing some of that. Jerry has done a fair few videos with his hi-speed cam, they are AWESOME!!!!!

Yeah, the Harris is a pukka piece of kit, totally rock solid. Mine has the cant on it as well which is great when out hunting on uneven ground(all the time then!)

It’s all good, Pab. I think I am going to like the Harris bipod. I need to find a different rest for the pistol grip or the butt. The one I used today was still pretty wobbly.

I didn’t think I was going to keep the Sony Camcorder. I just got it last night. Just watching the screen, it didn’t look like it was doing too good of a job today. I got home and played back the vids that it took today and I can clearly see the 101 yard pellet groups! The Sony also picks up the sound of the pellet hiting the paper. I didn’t shoot anything good enough to post here. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to get a steady hold on the gun. It was also very windy.

I got a couple of short videos of me shooting 12 ga. shotgun shels also at 101 yards. I thought that my .25 was really quiet. It makes a hell of a clang on the vids.

I will try to get them posted this weekend.

Hey oldgoat, if you are happy that you are playing by the rules, use whatever the hell you want!
We all know the spirit of this. 😀 😀 😀 😀
I like to shoot from prone, with my fist supporting the pistol grip.
Whatever works for other people is fine. Just no clamping in a vice and just puling the trigger 😀

who’ s Winning.

That is a good question… ❓

I’ve since got a .714 and a .660. I didn’t post them as a couple of the guys didn’t like the looks of my gun vice. It has foam rubber lined jaws and I found out a long time ago that Edguns don’t like to be clamped down in it. I think that the jaws distort the forearm enough that the wood touches the air tube and the shots are all over the place.

I use it as more of a gun rest than anything. The cross hairs are pretty wobbly using it. The sight picture is no where near as steady as Ted’s cross hairs are in his videos.

I just got a Harris bipod mounted and I am working on my camera mount. I hope to get some testing in today. I’m not expecting a whole lot, It is windy as hell here today!

who’ s Winning.

Eddie, total destruction of the target will get you disqualified… 😉 😆

Interesting guys been watching the progress great idea this 100 yd shooting I don’t have a 25 will 30 cal be ok lets see 30-06 or my 300 win mag MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 💡

You don’t care about no target after a couple of these bad boys… 😆

OH shit, dont know about that pab, dont you still need to be able to see the target. 😆

Try some of my pain killers. They will make a raging bull nice and chilled out…. 😯 😆

slam a beer or 2 before you shoot , see what happens then. the first 2 are always relaxing , lol ,if ya stay at that level of course. 😀

I know what you are saying it is hard to keep the tension down and just do it.

Relax and have some fun. i am weighting for you to put 55 gal drums together end to end or something to have an air free 100 yard shooting range 😆
