Q:

100 YARD .25 CALIBRE CONTEST!!

I thought we should start a dedicated thread to the contest mam’ 😀
‘goat you fucker, you better repost your outrageous groups again in this thread mate…. 😡 😆

Today, after mowing my Ma’s lawns, and then having to use the strimmer(I think you guys call them weed whackers?) to clear 4ft X 300ft corridor, in absoultely appaling side winds ranging from about 5mph to 30mph, I managed this effort at 100 yards……
I was shooting prone, but was very wobbly with no back support.
This rig will without doubt shoot a sub 1″ group, probably tighter than that, but I need a good rest and some calm weather…
I only shot 3 five round groups ‘cos the wind was so high, this was the best..
Will be back to my Ma’s farm on Thurs so should hopefully have some better conditions to shoot in.

Thanks Pabs and PB.. Yea PB I try to hang in there throughout the shot cycle
but man I tell ya it is my negative thoughts and fear of screwing up that
really takes my mind off of what I am doing…. I understand what you are
talking about and you are right on…. My concentration just drifts in and out…
I can’t stay in the zone…. Sometimes I think I just try too hard instead of
letting things happen… Good days and bad. I guess it is like everything
else…

Great shooting mam, whats going on after the sear breaks,i have found that if i concentrate on how the gun moves after the sear breaks that my groups tighten up.

i will sit and move the gun while nestled in the bags, to see where the gun moves to with a little nudge. and try to get it positioned where it moves straight back and keeps the cross hairs on the aim point.

you ever try this. try it with some dry firing and see what is going on after the trigger is pulled.

these pellets are so slow that if the gun is not consistent after the trigger is pulled it will effect accuracy, because the pellet is still in the barrel for that split second after firing.

Don’t know if you could improve on those groups or not, there pretty good. but i don’t think that you are going to quit trying. 😉

Give me a little bit and i will try and give you guys a run for your money.

Shit mam’ 10 shots in 1.5″ 😎
I’m healing as quick as I can..:x

LOL at the crow 😆

Just thought I would add something different to shoot for…. HURRY UP and
get better Pab…

These are 10 shot groups @ 100yds…. Ironically I missed a friggin Crow at
20yds while shooting these groups….

First one was just too big to measure…

Dollar, I think that you are a great candidate for a .25 Marauder to go with your compressor. 😀 Your going to really enjoy popping ground squirrels at 100 yards. 😀 You know, the Talon Tunes AAA Condor in .25 is also a great single shot rifle also. Just a thought!

quote SteveinLA:

We need to start an “Adoopt A Mam” campaign. H e has nothing to shoot out there and is relegated to paper. So, we should send him some ground squirrels, ground hogs, those big lizzards from Florida, nutria, crows, pigeons, english sparrows, and whatever else you guys can think of. 😉

hell, i have had to quit shooting the ground squirrels and rabbits around my ranch – otherwise i will have no breeding stock for next spring!! thank God there is no sparrow, starling or crow shortage. 36 acres of hilly, rocky pasture and the ground squirrels have been decimated in the 6 weeks since i bought my Talon SS. the few squirrels remaining seem to know they are safe and come out around the house, hop up on a rock and dare me to kill them. my latest targets are the numerous lizards- quite a challenge. i live at the end of a dead end dirt road and in the past people were always dropping off unwanted cats that went feral. none lately but there is always hope!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s the spirit! 😀

I can send him my neighbor’s cat, I had already put a stamp in his ear, just didnt know where to mail him to 😛

You pricks. I can’t get to a 100 yd range. fucking degenerates.
Me trigger feinger is itchin mate (me best cocknye, Pab).

walt

ya i lasered my “range” today.

the only way i can get out to 100 is to back up and shoot through my garage…
which would put me about 15 yards into my (front) driveway

wouldnt the neighbors love this rig “out in the front yard”

double door on the front of garage, single out the back

then i shot a few 50 yard groups and thought “whats the point anyway”

NICE shoot’n guys!!

.

They DO!!!!!!!

How much energy does a 1lb chunk of foam moving 700mph have?

Appears simple right? High school physics type of stuff…

Not to a rocket scientist, nobody at NASA believed a piece of foam could puncture the carbon laminate at the wings leading edge…

16,300 ft-lbs…

Which would be 8 tons, carbon fiber is strong but not that strong…

You should hear the gasps of surprise when the foam goes right through the wing… 😉 😯 Glad it’s not my ass in those tin cans. 😯

Just shoot at 25 yards and multiply by 4. Everyone else is doing it… 😆

😆 I was surprised to learn how many people have this rationale. And not just 12 year olds. Grown-ups! High school graduates! I’m glad they don’t work for NASA. 😆

Here we go… I overfilled just to see what the #’s would look like… I can
see that overfilling to gain shot count hurts consistency so, from now on
it does no good to fill beyond 200bar…. I shot from 3,200psi/220bar
down to 1,650psi/116bar and got 61 shots before it fell off the reg…. I
can guess that I would get about 50 shots if I only fill to 200bar.

1st 32 shot string 3,200psi to 2,325 psi…… 27.34 psi per shot
Low 915.8
High 937.2
Avg 926.6
ES 21.34
SD 5.65

2nd 32 shot string 2,325psi to 1,650psi…… 21.09 psi per shot….?
Low 902
High 923
Avg 915
ES 21.04
SD 4.58

I dropped the highest and lowest shots and averaged the whole string…
Low 906.4
High 934.6
Avg 920.8
ES 28.0
SD 5.115

I shot 2 X 32 shot groups @ 65yds and they were both 3/4″ holes…. I
am very pleased..
