100 YARD .25 CALIBRE CONTEST!!

Today, after mowing my Ma’s lawns, and then having to use the strimmer(I think you guys call them weed whackers?) to clear 4ft X 300ft corridor, in absoultely appaling side winds ranging from about 5mph to 30mph, I managed this effort at 100 yards……
I was shooting prone, but was very wobbly with no back support.
This rig will without doubt shoot a sub 1″ group, probably tighter than that, but I need a good rest and some calm weather…
I only shot 3 five round groups ‘cos the wind was so high, this was the best..
Will be back to my Ma’s farm on Thurs so should hopefully have some better conditions to shoot in.

I need to get out on the 100yrd range again 😡
I’ve only managed 3 groups at 100 so far and I’m itching to get out there.
I can’t aim on a dot like that for squat at long range. I need a vertical and horizontal line to help keep me on point. Otherwise that dot “floats” around 1/2″ behind the intersection on the reticle.

I thought I had it again but, could not keep it together…. Here are groups
from this morning…. I tried something new… I stopped looking directly at the
cross hairs when aiming… I started looking about half way between the cross
hairs and the first mildot below… It seemed to take my mind off of where the
next shot needed to go…. I could see the POA in my peripheral but not the
previous POI… call me crazy… Average was 1.659″
FYI… These were pellets sorted by weight…. 24.5-24.6gr. I have not found
even 1 pellet yet that was 25.4gr. They were 25.2, 25.3, 25.5, or 25.6

Sounds like a right tight bit of kit Pabs…. I think I need to work on my mental
regulator. Seems to be what is keeping this thing from shooting one hole at
100yds…. One thing is for sure…. Any animal within 100yds is in potential
danger….lol
I haven’t tried it yet but, would it qualify if I shot 3, 5 shot groups while alternating targets with every shot?
Mam, the way I was wobbling about and the feckin’ wind, I am 100% sure I can do way tighter than just a sub 1″
This reg has turned my rifle into a laser!! I used to get a good tight string with my blod valve, but never this tight. Plus the discovery of the Kings matched with my BSA, it seems to have pulled it all together. Still have probs with my combro after I had got it working again, so can’t get good data, but when it does read(about 1 in 5) its showing near the same speeds, plus near 1″ groups at a 100 confirms that.
AAAAhhhhhaaaa…. Shows great potential Pabs….

For those that want to partake in the give away of a custom cocking knob…the only requirements that I have are ….
1- you use and airforce air rifle (duh)
2- and you take pictures of your groups ,range , and gun…..

Sounds good;….. Yea there was a time when I wished that I did not have
this much land to mow… Whoed a thunk it would turn into a shooting
range….

I need to take a day off from shooting and sort and weigh pellets. The problem is that all I want to do is shoot the damn thing!

I read once that the smaller the target the tighter the groups… I try my best
to follow Nygord’s notes but, it is a serious struggle to keep the doubts out
while executing the shot… If you don’t think you are going to hit the target
then, you probably won’t.
