That puts buy low and sell high, over the top!! I am positive their is a similar mark up on the Raptor compressor. Sweet deal when you can corner, then squeeze the competition. :darth-vader: :darth-vader:

So price for Cricket should be about $950 USD

I bought my two crickets from Dima when they first came in at $1950 a pop.

Well ….that would make them “rare”

Yes. Rare overpriced.

I sold one with little loss and now only have one left. So this one is staying for sure.

I suspect the same is true for the Matadors and FX’s.

There are several threads on Yellow discussing this now……..

I need some help here. I don’t quite understand the US-set up for import/distribution/retail…..

Some time back, only TopGun and Dima were listed as “sellers” (where to buy from) on Kalibr’s website:

Now WWAG, TG and AOA are listed. Dima and “KalibrgunUSA” have gone for some reason…..

All the three present retailers are based in AZ…….

Do they all work through different “importers” ???? :suprisedn: πŸ™„ And who is defining the price to retailers ? The importer or the retailer himself ? Or is there a distributor in between here somewhere ???

Kindly enlighten me, – there’s something I don’t understand….. 😳 😳 😳

What I do understand is that this “war” is not going to benefit the consumer nor the manufacturer much in the long run. If Kalibr ends up with one importer/distributor this “institution” may pretty much be able to squeeze the producer for margins in trade off for bigger volumes. Kalibr should try to avoid this situation at all costs. A “monopoly” on the US-side may have a serious impact on them. The scenario is well known from other industries where producers may have to “beg” to get into the shelves of certain retailers…….

About prices in general: Below is a couple of pages from the official Kalibr 2013 catalogue they sent me last year. I have no reason to believe the prices mentioned are “special prices for me”. The prices most certainly include Kalibr’s own mark up/profit. Prices would most probably be negotiable if quantities are reaching a certain level. However the prices are already significantly lower than the US prices. And yes, while it certainly costs a lot of money to get the guns across from Europe and distributed, – still there seems to be room for a significant markup on the US-side of things. Even with the new and lower AOA prices. For euro/dollar conversion, todays exchange rate was some 1.37 dollar for one euro:

But you get the idea ….????

YouΒ΄re right about that ! The shipment cost over the Atlantic canΒ΄t be very much per unit if one orders ie 100 guns. We have to remember the tax / VAT difference as well. European taxes (inside EU) are far higher than those in US. So that makes the US dealer profit even higher. Or am i missing something here ??
The FX deal is ridiculous but all of a sudden it looks like FX isnΒ΄t the only brand with greatly jacked up pricing …

ZOCO, We, don’t understand it “here” either! 9 times out of 10 it traces back to AOA and it’s less than above board practices. They managed to pull this off with the FX guns to the point that they are way over priced here. And they are the only real source to get them now. Dito the Daystate Air Guns.

Yes there are others, but they have to buy them from AOA and pretty much follow the
lead of AOA. It’s pretty much a monopoly. Which is supposed to illegal here, but it is what it is.

They have been fucking the the American Air Gunner for years! πŸ‘Ώ

Zoco,

I am not sure I understand the details of the US import process completely and as you see it changed. Maybe AOA grabbed the sole import authority in the process as they have done with FX and Daystate I believe. Ernest probably knows. I also passed around that 2013 KalibrGun PDF from over a year ago and was surprised at the final prices in the US. 😯 Anyone seen the 2014 KalibrGun Catalog with prices?

I fear Steve’s time to act is running out. Maybe he can renegotiate something on his original deal for the order.

For those of you who participated in the Edgun shipment and purchase last fall, I think this one is turning out to be nearly just as much fun so far. Each one is an adventure. I only wish Dr. Steele was here to enjoy it with us.

Add R&L and Precision to the list of those who also retail Kalibr in the USA.

The yellow is so bias it would be the equivalent of toilet paper if you printed it out.

He hasn’t deleted the thread cause WWAG is a site sponsor… The same reason negative feed back about AOA gets removed . Also the same reason negative edgun press stays up

But he will purge out comments on the thread

bleece – You nailed it. While I like Ted’s videos and wish I had the time he does to fuck around with air guns, he is obviously getting his palms greased.

I am absolutely floored that Yellow Steve has not chimed in or even locked the thread.
