Don’t feel like the Lone Ranger on the broken Stock!
🙁 I recieved my R3 22 standard last Thursday. And the same thing happened to me. I didn’t want to post anything about it yet because I didn’t want to piss anyone off. I talked with Tony about it last week. He said it was my baby. So, I filed the claim with UPS. They wanted to p.u. my rifle for inspection too. I said Hell No! They already screwed it up once I’m not giving them another shot at it. So, they agreed to do an over-the-line inspection. It is in the process as we speak. I can’t stand UPS, this is the 2nd time this has happened to me on air rifles. If I were to order another Edgun I would make sure it had insurance on it as well.
On one good note, I shot it this weekend and it is a Damn Tack Driver! I will post some groups at a later date. My wife shot a clay pigeon at 65 yds free handed standing. At least it’s accurate

Nope just do an exchange, or the offer to repair. I think the repair is better, less wait, less money lost, less time trying to add it to another action.
Samurai fixed his and he can hardly tell the difference.
It’s an easy fix, with a high probability of success, which is why I offered to do it for free and would still do for any broken EdGun stock in the USA (ship the stock only offer, no need to have the action for the repair). I’d even refinish it if needed for free it’s so easy. 😉
1…it’s not your not understanding, it their communication skills in a second language…shit gets lost in the translation and pussies get bruised
3….
Again some of you cats need to learn reading comprehension and Fucking THINK!
Tony did not request an exchange, no he dropped $50.00 of a new replacement stock which is likely the entire profit margin…yes he would be getting the stock AT Tonys cost PLUS have a slightly damaged one
My take was a bit more austere…take the damaged unit back in return for a discounted replacement, granted a bit deeper than just $50.00
They WILL NOT PROFIT by this WHAT SO EVER…take a dime and buy a clue dude 🙄
RS.
1. Nothing is lost in the translation. The only pussies I may have allegedly bruised do not belong to me.
3. Think is exactly what I did. I read your post which said basically ( and no, this is not a direct quote of your words):
-what I would do is offer a slightly discounted replacement stock-
In retort I did not agree with that approach, I felt the buyer deserved a free replacement.
Further.. No, I did not say he (ED or Toshik) would make a profit it he replaced the stock.
I said he would make a profit if he SOLD a replacement stock even at a discount.
Big difference right? Or do you think I still need to get a clue?
My dimes are well spent BTW. 🙄
so Syn are you saying that Tony should let the consumer keep that slightly damaged stock AND then send out a new replacement for a paltry fifty bones?
even with the little bit of damage I would still pay at least a $150.00 for any of the broken stoks I have seen as is…
agreed something needs to change
and again, it’s not the “sliding” thats the issue
it’s that Tony is shipping the rifles installed in the stock
that is ALWAYS damage waiting to occur with delicate air rifle stock designs
weakest link in the chain and all that rot
But we all agree that the packaging isn’t as good as it can be right?
And it was the rifle sliding inside the packaging supplied by EdGun that allowed the rifle to be damaged in the way it was damaged right?
Yet it’s ok to not account for the well known and documented abuse that these carriers reap on packages?
If I send something to someone without the proper packaging and UPS rejects the claim and I refuse to refund the purchase price while telling the purchaser to pack sand I have effectively ripped them off.
I am sure as shit a smaller outfit than EdGun, so why wouldn’t the rules apply to the middle of the spectrum? 😯 😕
Plus, this was bound to happen if you are shipping “hundreds” of rifles, to think that everything would arrive in perfect condition is crazy talk.
$50 off a replacement stock is bullshit. It should be $50 for a new stock AT THE MOST.
It’s not about profit, it’s about doing the right thing, offer to have the stocks fixed and foot the bill, don’t tell the customer to pack sand.
Since when is it ok to have someone who just bought a near $2000 rifle spend another $250-$200 on a replacement stock when it is CLEARLY poor packaging that broke the stock? The damn box wasn’t even dented.
Am I to think i’ll just have to rely on luck that I won’t be out $250 after spending $1500-$2000 on an EdGun? Sorry, if that’s the case I simply won’t risk it knowing what I ALREADY know about ups and fedex…
Will future EdGun be packaged differently?
If not I don’t think I want to play the “will I get fucked by EdGun and UPS” odds with over $1500 on the line.
And I can make my own stocks… 😯 😕
Riverside…
Riff’s post were aimed at TONY, not ED… Don’t see where any translation comes into it.
Reading comprehension ??? 😆 😆 😆
ok one at a time…
Nate:
Have you ever dealt with damage claims through UPS?
I kinda doubt it otherwise you would know it is a matter of routine to deny nearly all damage claims on anything shipped through their odious “service”…you can quadruple box an item and they will still say fuck off even if a forklift ran over it, nothing is good enough.
Been through this with UPS and FedEx many a time…I refuse to use either service if I can help it…they will lie and attempt to cheat you unless you hang in there and nag nag nag
it doesn’t matter how you ship through them or how much you insure an item for…their game is to fuck the consumer whenever they screw the pooch…
Rif:
1…it’s not your not understanding, it their communication skills in a second language…shit gets lost in the translation and pussies get bruised
2….you wrote about poor machining. I accept this but noting so far the only 2 complaints have came from foreign end users. I’m guessing there was likely a small number of breeches that escaped with this chatter but honestly I have seen worse even in Daystates…shit happens, should have been intercepted true

4…judging by the packaging I will say it is typical of pack and ship joints and to do it right is more than just a few extra minutes
time is money so suck it in boyo, you just added a chunk of cash in cost to the end user but it may simply be necessary to do that to eliminate future debacles like this.
WOK:
didn’t think you would have anything positive to contribute past stirring the pot 😆 😆 😆
edit: now that was a step towards a positive contribution with your last post and do agree…to an extant
Guys,
Ed Gun Tony is one of us.
Personal insults are not needed.
Ed Gun Tony, I suggest you and Ed figure something out or these guys will spread the word about broken Ed Guns across the internet and sales could come to a stand still.
We will not silence them here on the TAG.
I personally have sent parts all over the world and have had to remake and replace some due to loss or damage at no fault of my own. It sucks but it happens.
When UPS denies the claim due to improper packaging then whoever packed the item is at fault. The customer does should not have to suffer because of poor packaging.

I wouldn’t call it “mocking”…a bit of this is due to Russians attempting to compose their words from English to “American”
I disagree.
All guns were received with perfect stocks, they were shipped out with perfect stocks as well.
We’ve sent hundreds of them out without any issues, so I’d agree about great customer service.
Toshik knows what he was meaning to say. “I agree great customer service” after stating HE received them in perfect condition and sent them in perfect condition. Basically, it means he is washing his hands of the problem and worse, not wanting to accept any responsibility or hear about it.
I don’t have to understand Russian to figure this out.
interesting thing is that so far no USA R3 owners are complaining…I tore my new R3 down this weekend for a looksee…mine looks great
the two complaints are international…a bloke in the UK with an Estonian marked Edgun and another in Norway with a Russian marked rifle
all I know is my .25 R3 is Daystate or FX grade
I do not see the relevance to what country the owners received their rifles. Are you saying its OK for anybody out of the USA to receive a bad machined breech or any part for that matter?
So yours is perfect, good for you. Theirs obviously are not, and they are buying from the same vendor.
look, these stocks are simply not that damaged
the ones I have seen I could do an invisible repair Easily
yes of course I would be pissed had my rifle been busted in transit
would I be all over this forum bitching…likely not
were it me I would either try to work something out for a spare but discounted stock or I’d repair what I had and use it.
That is your option, and if it is ok with you fine. Other people in this world do not wish to spend extra on an original purchase they should not have had to.
I wont quote your statement about profit, because it is clear to me if the only option the buyer has is to buy a replacement stock then the vendor PROFITS from that sale pure and simple. Its more money in his pocket than was originally agreed upon when he accepted the order.
Explain how it is not profit again? Your personal experience with Hawke is relevant in this matter and more or less contradicts what you think Toshik should be doing.
like I said I do feel for folks with damaged stocks, I only suggested a slight compromise
it’s not like Tony is some huge operation like A0A or Pyramid 😉
Yeah… Pyramydair gave away THOUSANDS of dollars worth of replacement pellets before they finally started packaging them right.
Maybe thats what needs to happen here, but it wont because like you say Toshik is not a “huge operation”.
Hopefully though, they learn from this and stop defending their packaging which is obviously flawed.
I think the “extra fuck around in S&H” is a necessary evil, that would only take a few extra minutes per box.
Why would this be so hard to do? Is it worth losing potential customers such as myself? If they do not care, nothing will change.
Anyway, I feel for these guys and am surprised how this has gone.
Johnsairmadness was told by UPS the claim was denied because of insufficient packaging. Seems to me it is the sellers responsibility to determine what is “sufficient” packaging, and make sure the guns are packaged to the shippers specifications, so if there is damage, there is no question the claim will be approved. Somebody orders a high-end gun, waits months to get it and is expected to eat the cost of the damage? C’mon man!
No probs bro…like I said I feel all of you guys and your angst…
sure Hawke handles these issues WAY different
then again to compare Tony’s Johnny Johnny one man band show to a pretty large corporation is totally unfair, whether it is me using Hawke or others mentioning AoA’s or others brick and mortar storefronts return policies.
it’s like large chains like Walmart
years back I used to troll their dumpsters for litteraly brand new shit that had been returned…in consumer goods, returns went to the trash and were wrote off on taxes
Had a customer a few years back that asked for a discount for no insurance
rifle ended up damaged…was it my duty to pay?
nope
I did find him the bits but it wasn’t my duty to supply or install them
it’s a bitch but Tony is really only a middleman that isn’t making shit all for his efforts and Ed isn’t making much of the USA trade either
do I think certain things should be changed…Damn Straight!
but I am not one to hammer a grey market vendor either
I am just damn pleased we can even get a .25 Edgun delivered in the USA
rather have Tony vending Ed’s guns then AoA…been bullshitted a few times by AoA and recieved either non working guns or better yet, most recently guns without magazines…
Oh they should have been in the box…Whatever…
Damn dude, learn some reading comprehension…
where did I state the repaired exchanged stock should be sold at a profit?
here is the offending quote…
“and offer them as slightly dicounted spares or even as an option on new guns for a discount.”
tell me just exactly WHERE I stated to sell them at profit…I clearly stated that the should be sold at a DISCOUNT now didn’t I…
I do feel your pain in all this though
Your right Riverside…
Having to buy a new stock..even at a discounted price just rubbed me the wrong way. Tony did offer a $50 buck discount..
I like the way HAWK handled things much better, and feel thats the way things should be.
the discount might cover the cost of repair and he still loses money selling the repaired stock at a discounted price after repair
net loss…
guess you have never been in retail sales
That would turn a profit if they only slightly discounted them (your words) and take their damage ones, fix them and also sell them (profit).
So they are NOT making a profit there?
Wtf? 😆
Also the dude got his gun fucked up, even just a little bit, let the man slide, that is cool you have balls the size of a watermelon and don’t even care if your stuff gets damaged, but some of us don’t feel the same way, and if my 2000 gun got broken, I would be wanting the company, no matter how small they are to help me out, not say “we have great customer service”
AND the fact that much bigger companies take care of their customers when they pay a small percentage of what these guns cost, is some bull shit.

😆 😆 😆
yes Rif it is lost on you apparently
my point was is that our language is not Tony or Ed’s primary language hence some may come away with a preception that either or are “mocking” when I am certain that was not the intent
it’s stupid shit like this that has led to wars between nations in the past.
and nice job taking my words out of context…was VERY clear from the start that the dicounted replacement should be in exchange for the damaged stock…heck Tony’s offer was to sell a replacement stock at what I assume is likely cost and let the end user retain the damaged one for repair as a spare
or are you thinking there is some 200% markup that Tony is apply on Ed’s products?
further if you order a new Air Ranger from AoA and it arrives with a broken stock do you think they are going to provide a replacement free of charge and let you keep the damaged one?
this isn’t Crosman garbarge
no, they will have you ship the damaged gun back to them, usually on YOUR dime, then replace it
