Q:

Don’t feel like the Lone Ranger on the broken Stock!

πŸ™ I recieved my R3 22 standard last Thursday. And the same thing happened to me. I didn’t want to post anything about it yet because I didn’t want to piss anyone off. I talked with Tony about it last week. He said it was my baby. So, I filed the claim with UPS. They wanted to p.u. my rifle for inspection too. I said Hell No! They already screwed it up once I’m not giving them another shot at it. So, they agreed to do an over-the-line inspection. It is in the process as we speak. I can’t stand UPS, this is the 2nd time this has happened to me on air rifles. If I were to order another Edgun I would make sure it had insurance on it as well.
On one good note, I shot it this weekend and it is a Damn Tack Driver! I will post some groups at a later date. My wife shot a clay pigeon at 65 yds free handed standing. At least it’s accurate

not at all WOK
I just see some things through quite different eyes and simply have never been part of pile on group dynamics
funny thing is we are all basically in agreement, the debate is merely magnitude and degree isn’t it?

Mrnewbie:
postal sucks too but to a less degree than the Brown and on claims FedEx is absolutely the worst of the three…I have posted my FedEx horror stories, no need to rehash that ground again
the only thing superior about the brown and FedEx is their tracking for those so inclined to watch a package move stage by stage through their systems…in that they have postal beat all to hell
Claims…yep the Brown will “resolve” claims faster, usually with a denile
not had that happen with the Post Office ever but as you noted it will take months to get your gold
rather deal with slow and sure than a rapid fuck you

i think i said on the first edgun that was damaged that tony needed to double box the guns and charge more for shipping, one box with a few peanuts and the edgun in its case aint gonna cut it in my opinion, the last gun i shipped was an edgun and i went overboard on the packaging and shipping with insurance that cost me 90 bucks but i slept well knowing that box could have fallen off that truck doing 60 mph and probably would have been fine,,think of it this way we are not shipping a gun that can be bought at a gun shop across town, these guns are hard to come by and cannot be replaced easily,,,thats all i got to say bout that.

I understand now. Reminds me of my wife…

Damn illwill…hot!

Riverside, I don’t understand your defense of this BS.

.

If the discussion was “Blue Bubble Gum” he would take the contrary stand and defend it for thousands of words.

The topic is not the point…..It is the discussion he is addicted to.

Not even close to best system..

Ok then so F..ing what?

I’ll let you pick, if not UPS then who…Post office sucks..maybe Fedx better on claims , I don’t know..

Beside..its irrelevant.

I did not get a choice…it was sent UPS…

I had no choice…

not even close to the best system
but I understand….Always a Marine right?

No ,my experience is 36 Freakin years of workin at UPS.
I was BROWN

Retired UPS driver 4/2010..

I could tell you lots of stories

But, they have a system that works…and its the best one out there. But you have to play the game…

Riverside, I don’t understand your defense of this BS.

Package not well packed…
what the hell is there to argue about?

Tony ship new, file claim..sell 2 Edguns, take care of customers.

So let me make certain I understand…
your defense of how UPS functions today is based of experiences two decades old???

granted twenty year ago UPS was a decent shipper but that seriously changed

yes postal drags out but they don’t have you work through adjusters and shit like UPS and FedEx today do on large claims πŸ™„

I’ll throw my .02 in. I agree that Tony should send out a new stock, get the broken one back and deal with the claim.
Shit man for $2000.00 I expect some damn good customer service as well as a damn good gun.
I was very disappointed a while back when a guy here received an Edgun with a crappy looking stock instead of the black one advertised. Can’t remember all the details, but I remember him having to go round and round with Tony instead of him just making it right.
Unless I am remembering it wrong, someone can look it up and let us know.
Not too much to ask for the seller to just make it right IMO.

Who was at fault…thats simple the Shipper..period.
It is the shippers duty, to get the goods to the consumer.
The shipper should resend the item, then take up the fight with the shipping company and wait 2 weeks to get paid….UPS in this case. It the shippers job to fight over the claim with UPS…and a plus side to this is the shipper..sells 2 items.

Its the shippers sole responsability to get the product to the end user!
The shipper can pick..UPS, Fedx, Post office..

Riverside, you once stated..I can tell you have never been in retail sales..or something like that.

Well I have been, from late 70’s to early 90’s, I ran a mail order computer company. D & P Computers, maybe some of you OLD guys remember those good old days? We used to sell C64 and Atari computers.

Back in those days I shipped all over the world..yes Russia included.
I have delt with claims from UPS, the Post office, and claims in Canada…its all a giant PITA.

Up front, the Post office is far worse than UPS, a claim with the post office takes 6 months before its settled, I know, I have done it. The post office is not the way to go.
UPS although a PITA is settled in a few weeks. FedX, I do not know.

UPS once delivered 2 computers in 1 box, that was run over by a truck, I mean smashed, dual truck tire prints right over it. Yes, a $2000 claim, which they paid.

At any rate, I have seen lots of credit card fraud, theft, miss-delivery, lost packages…ect..

I have also had to fight a little with UPS over computer monitor claims, there was a high damage rate on those..they are fragile. Many other little claims as well.

But you know what??

ITS PART OF DOING BUSSINESS.

I’ll throw a little more gas on the fire.

Did you now that the SHIPPER or RECEIVER can file a claim?
It is customary that the receiver files the claim, but the shipper could do it, if they wanted to take the time.

How does that make you guys feel?

I dunno, guess I’m just old fashioned, but if a customer would have called me, I would have said..Ok’ I’ll send out another..and then filed a claim. We used to call such things, Customer service

yes, lets say UPS ran a fork lift over it…that’s apples and oranges to the slight damage we have seen on several stocks but lets use that extreme example
I don’t know of a case where a gun was totally destroyed in shipment but I am aware of one where a Springfield M1A .308 being shipped between licensed dealers was not only delivered to the wrong address but was left leaning next to the door of that wrong address which was incidently a vacant office!
UPS fought and claimed that since the package was delivered they had no responsibility…btw, the parcel vanished by the time a few days later UPS went back to retrive it.

so who is at fault?
should the shipping FFL be responsible to make the party at loss whole or was it UPS’ responsibility?
eventually the matter WAS resolved however it took a claim filed in civil court before UPS saw the light and coughed up the cash.

be likely the same situation if a forklift ran over your Edgun crushing the tube flat as a pancake
and it won’t matter whether it’s insured or not
UPS and FedEx straight up suck

it’s like when I do international shipping
while I have not had anything damaged, I have had things outright vanish in transit
sorry, not my duty to make the party at the other end whole and I am quite specific about this to an International customer prior to money changing hands
the risk is on them…too easy for shit to grow legs and walk away or get snagged by another nation’s customs
not my duty to know your nations laws when you place an order

guess were I Tony I would change the packaging and ship US Priority Mail Insured
as noted this will increse S&H
as far as the damaged stocks, exchange, repair or rebate and write it off as an idiot tax for having used the packing he did and having used UPS in the first place

I would have thought for sure that Tony / Ed would have resolved this matter by now, especially now with reputations on the line. Maybe, I’m naΓ―ve to business strategies, but what’s the price on a few wood stocks compared to long term damage something like this can do to your reputation and character as business enterprise. I for one, would have never ordered my gun in the 1st place if I was going to be held responsible for any potential damage.

Think about it, what if the gun was broken and smashed beyond repair? …would that situation made any difference?

Thats funny Riverside.
You are the only one who didn’t think it was a mocking gesture.
I fully understood the meaning Toshik implied, it was written in well constructed English not the broken logic you are used to.

quote Riverside:

no, they will have you ship the damaged gun back to them, usually on YOUR dime, then replace it
BTDT

Also, Good job taking MY words out of context.

At no time did I say the buyer should keep the broken stock.
Of course, neither did I say they should return it but a replacement is usually preceded by a RMA so whatever…

I normally do not bother to speak with people like you. Rather I just consider the source, and determine it to be insignificant.

quote Riverside:

so Syn are you saying that Tony should let the consumer keep that slightly damaged stock AND then send out a new replacement for a paltry fifty bones?
even with the little bit of damage I would still pay at least a $150.00 for any of the broken stoks I have seen as is…

agreed something needs to change

and again, it’s not the “sliding” thats the issue
it’s that Tony is shipping the rifles installed in the stock
that is ALWAYS damage waiting to occur with delicate air rifle stock designs
weakest link in the chain and all that rot

Well, I just may happen to have a stock that you could have for $150 bucks.
πŸ˜† πŸ˜† πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

What we are all saying is…

Tony should replace these stocks..free of charge
Then get them fixed, sell them for $150 or $175 or whatever.

The end user should not get screwed…

Amen Syn…thats what I have been stating pretty much from the start
these are VERY Easy repairs
I doubt most of these characters have a clue how many new American made guns are shipped new from the factory with repaired stocks
been that way for decades, since the very beginning of the firearms industry.

again I feel for the handful of folks that had their rifles damaged after months of waiting
that Totally SUCKS
been through this with AoA on a used gun purchase…think they made it right?
