HOW OLD ARE WE???

I was just sittin here drinking a beer twidling with me belly button (as you do ), thinking about how much of a ‘fringe’ hobby this is. Then i started thinking about how young i was when i first started playing with air rifles. It was the early eighties, i was about 11 or so when i first started playing in the woods with them.
I’m 37 now. I’ve got an air rifle. i go to the woods and play with it.
In 20 years, you’ll find me somewhere, playing with me air rifle.

started shooting blow guns at about 6 then got a crosman pumpmaster 760 for my 7th birthday used it til about 10 then sorta got out of it got back into it at 12 and for my 13th birthday i got a gamo shadow 1000 with a 4×32 gamo scope then i bought myself a condor for my 15th birthday along with a leapers 4-16×56 scope and airhogs shroud
42 here.
Got my first airgun when I was 11, and then some Crosman pumpers when I was 14. Then I dropped them when I was 17 or so and chased after girls. When I turned 18 I bought my first .22LR, then shotguns, 30-30, 30-06, 7mm Mag, 270Win. and so on, also some 9mm’s handguns, etc.
That lasted for about 10yrs until my late 20’s when I got married, and did not fire a gun after that for almost 10yrs although I had kept most of them. Started shooting groundhogs with a .22LR rimie in the backyard about 5yrs ago until 1 day a neighbor called the cops so I got back into airguns again about 1.5yrs ago, mainly Springers and recently a Condor.
That about sums up my life story.. Boring, isn’t it? 😆
I’m 8 days older than Christ. Got my first BB pistol when I was 9. Been hooked ever since.

37 going on 23, got my first daisy when I was still in pre school. I asked pops at breakfast if I could have one because my friends brother just got one, and he came home with it that night, just after he handed me the box as I got it opened moms saw what it was. she didn’t miss a beat and hauled off and cracked him one in the face for it, pops just smiled and said “my boy wants a gun, my boy gets a gun”. moms did hold on to the bb’s though and I rarely got a hand full, and never unless we were out in the woods. I still have that daisy to this day.

and a lever action bb rifle can’t remeber the brand. Had assorted since then but now getting back into it.
I’m 38. Be 39 on 9/5. I’ve been shooting airguns since I was about 6 and shot my first 30-06 when I was 8. My dad had me lay down in the prone position and fire at an empty gallon milk jug floating in the bottom of an old strip mine in Ohio. All I remember is a hell of a bang and a huge plume of water rising up from where the milk jug used to be.
I’ll be 43….very soon 😉 Yeesh. Seems like only yesterday I was wearing skinny leather ties and high-waters, listening to ZZ Top’s Eliminator on wax and dodging bullets in Brooklyn 😉
I’m 48. My mother wouldn’t let me have a BB gun…”you’ll shoot your eye out” syndrome. But I started shooting BB guns with my friends. I bought a Daisy 105 from a friend but it didn’t shoot well. The second 105 that I bought from another friend shot much harder…I still have both guns. My kids have had their first shooting experiences with it.
One day I was makinhg a slingshot out of a piece of mulberry branch when my grandfater walked up. “What are you doing?, He asked. Sheepishly, I told him that I was trying to make a slingshot; I thought that I was in trouble. But then he sat down next to me and said, “here, let me show you how to do that right.” Too cool! I still have that slingshot with the bicycle innertube bands.
One day I got a guy in the neighborhood to take me to the local sporting goods store where he helped me buy a Crosman 760, (I was 12). I think that one of my “friends” needed it more than me…it disappeared. Oh well.
Another day I rode my 10 speed to K-mart and thought what the hell, I’ll try to buy a BB gun. I didn’t think that they would sell it too me, (I was 12-13). So I icked up the first one that I saw, and sure enough, the guy sold it to me. That was a Daisy model 25. What a great BB gun that I still have. I broke once but I sent back to Daisy who repaired it and it still shoots great.
When I was 14 my two of my shop teachers took me shooting…powder burners. That was my introduction to firearms and metallic cartridge reloading. I shot so much .30 carbine ammo that one guy told me that I need to learn to reload to help him. (We all know that it helped me more). He just passed away last November…I sure miss him.
Throughout the years I have always shot airguns. Some say that I have the shooting gene. They’re right. All of our stories similar; we are cut from the same cloth. Thanks Adam, Tron, Y, Tony for providing this forum. What a great environment to meet great people from all over the world with the similar interests. Thanks to all of the forum members who make this place in cyber space comfortable.
