Q:

OIL,OIL, TOIL and trouble

This oil spill in the gulf has been going on for about one month now.

This is going to reach catastropic proportions if it hasnt already .

I thought some of the guys on here could put thier evil genius ๐Ÿ˜ˆ to good use .

does anyone have any good or bad ideas that they think might slow down or stop this ??

Im no engineer , but first I would remove BP and and anyone else involved from the picture .

As they have a certain amount of time money and may pose a conflict of interest in getting this done quickly.

I dunno, if thats true or not , but lets start new .

Ok My idea , (maybe it wouldnt work , I dunno ) would be to dump 30 or 40 cargo ships full of gravel and 1 ton blocks of stone . just keep dumping till it stops .

In an attempt to smother it . then apply some some type of concrete to seal it .

re drill (I know) next to it, or tap it . to remove pressure .

Im no engineer man , just shooting it out there to you evil geniuses who might be able to springboard off that . I know some of you fucks are clever enough to get it done

whats your ideas ? Cause BP doesnt have any .

waiting till the well runs dry (literaly) isnt an option .

It could be done relatively easy. But that would be to seal the door completely. They want to be able to keep getting oil. That’s where the trickery comes in. I hope they can’t fix it and it fucks so much shit up that people will wake their retarded ass up and make alternative fuel a priority since they won’t listen to reason. Greed. Motherfucking greed. Makes people dumb, def and blind. Damn shame. Oh I got a great idea. Let us air breathing land mammals go one mile deep in the ocean and dig a big hole! Man they make’m brighter everyday don’t they. Come on. The combustion engine is to the limit. Only real leaps and bounds that can be made to that technology is to use a different fuel. The only recent update to the car engine that has been effective in using less fuel is this one cylinder shutting down when not needed bs. The car engine has not gotten any better gas mileage since fuel injection. Only reason they are getting better mileage is because the cars are getting smaller and lighter in effect providing better gas mileage. The car combustion engine still sucks gas like trons black girl friend sucks dildos lol !!!!! Oh wait they have a better technology but it’s not cost effective. Man the US used to have values that did not pertain to money. I swear we did.

Also remember BP fumbled the shit out of the Valdez cleanup???

That was Exxon

Yeah exxon’s spill. BP was brought in for the “cleanup”

There is the other reason that cameras are not allowed to film the beaches…
The fumes coming off of the oil is toxic and a health hazard… Anyone that
goes near that stuff just out of curiosity is an idiot…. These morons running
around in boats in the middle of the oil are real friggin morons…. One spark
in the wrong place and they could be stuck in the middle of an inferno…. I tell
ya, people just don’t understand what they are dealing with or how huge this
problem is…

The sight of oil-soaked brown pelicans is now common. Sticky rust-brown oil slathers the grass in the marshlands. Federal officials closed more fishing grounds Tuesday, bringing the total to more than 54,000 square miles, nearly a quarter of the federal waters in the gulf.

(the next backup plan) Then a specially configured containment dome would be lowered onto the blowout preventer. Ideally it would capture much more of the oil than has been contained so far with a small pipe in the end of the leaking riser, he said. That insertion tool has captured an average of 2,000 barrels a day, Wells said, but the well is leaking many times that amount.

This is scary stuff. I say go with the nuke. I’m sure its less dangerous than pumping oil at 6500psi day after day.

Ok, although it sounds like a really great idea, have you thought about how long it will take to cut, bail, pack, and ship a million tons of grass, IF there is that much available… How much machinery is there in the “Great Plains” that can cut and bail grass? How long does it take for the grass to die and dry out enough to be able to absorb oil? Who told you that hay will not absorb water? I really don’t think you understand what you are saying…. I have ridden on combines and hay bailers as a kid and I can tell you that it ain’t gonna happen in a day, week, month or year.. 1 hay bail will cover about 2 square feet of surface area and the oil slick is at least 59,400,000sq ft if my calculations are correct.. Thatโ€™s 29,700,000 bails of hay at 60lbs per bail for a total of 1,782,000,000lbs of hay. You are just not understanding the magnitudeโ€ฆ It is incomprehendable to say the least .. And as I said above, BP should not have ever used dispersants in the first place…. I know it all sounds absurd but I know what I am talking. Although you don’t understand the physics of it, you can not just dump gravel, cement, or huge blocks on top of a flowing well and stop it from flowing….. It took a column of fluid, at least 1 mile high, and 24″ in diameter to hold down the pressure of the well…. That calculates to 321,755,010,606 lbs of fluid… Now do you understand why you can’t JUST bury it? It only sounds absurd because you don’t have the experience to understand…. If you knew what you were talking about you would understand how absurd your ideas are… They are borderline joechemtrail mentality…. ๐Ÿ˜† My family owned an oilfield trucking business and I started working for my dad when I was 14yrs old driving vacuum trucks, to drilling rigs. I started working on workover rigs that rework live wells, right out of high school. I was a drilling fluid blending plant operator after that, and a drilling fluid engineer living on drilling rig locations for months at a time after that. I understand all of what they are talking about… …. I am telling you that they are doing every thing they can think of to get this thing under control……. As long as it is flowing, everybody is losing… I apologize if I sound like I am just trying to prove you wrong, argue, or make you look ignorantโ€ฆ.

BP had warning signs before Gulf blast: panel

http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE64P0JS20100526?feedType=RSS&feedName=topNews

quote :

(Reuters) – BP Plc told congressional investigators on Tuesday that pressure tests on a drill pipe hours before the deadly explosion that caused the Gulf of Mexico oil leak showed a “fundamental mistake,” a memo released by two congressmen showed.

The memo, by Representatives Henry Waxman and Bart Stupak, who were briefed by BP about the progress of its internal investigation, also said problems were found in equipment meant to provide fail-safe protection against a blow out.

A BP investigator indicated to the lawmakers that the fundamental mistake may have been made because heavy pressure on the drill line of 1,400 pounds per square inch (98 kg per square cm) was an “indicator of a very large abnormality.”

The memo did not indicate who made decisions after the problem was found. BP and Transocean, the owner and operator of the rig, had supervisors on the rig when it exploded.

About two hours before the explosion that killed 11 workers and caused the leak that is still gushing oil, the rig team was satisfied a test on another line was “successful,” the BP investigator said.

BP would not comment on the memo and Transocean could not be immediately reached.

The memo said BP data showed there were numerous problems with production equipment. Nearly five hours before the explosion, an unexpected loss of fluid was observed in the well’s riser pipe. That suggests “there were leaks in the annual preventer,” a rubber gasket in the blowout preventer, the memo said.

Waxman and Stupak chair the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s investigative subcommittee, which has reviewed over 105,000 pages of internal documents from BP, rig owner Transocean Ltd, Halliburton Co, and blowout preventer manufacturer Cameron.

The memo said the BP investigation has also raised concerns about the maintenance history, modification, and inspection of the blowout preventer.

Officials from BP and Transocean are next slated to testify before congressional panels on Thursday.

According to BP, there were also three warming signs of problems with unwanted flow in the well starting 51 minutes before the explosion. About 18 minutes before the explosion abnormal pressure leaks of the fluids known as mud meant to keep oil and gas capped were observed and the pump was shut down.

“The data suggests that the crew may have attempted mechanical interventions at that point to control the pressure, but soon after, the flow out and pressure increased dramatically and the explosion took place,” the memo said.

Im saying this thing isnt impossible. No way

Sounds good to me or just double everything to be sure…

From what I have read the tower thingy is 50′ tall and has fallen over on it’s side or something…

Cut it off at the place it goes into the rock, stick ‘the box’ over it and pump away to keep everything ok…

Shit a pickup truck bed full of water is a few tons of weight alone… ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Its only impossible until we figure out how to do it. ๐Ÿ˜€

or

It s not impossible if we figure out how to do it

whats the possibilty of drilling relief holes every few feet on the pipe to relive pressure?

Come on kids work with me here ! ๐Ÿ˜€

How can we get the chest to work ?

instead of explaining why it wont , explain how we can improve it so it can.

quote :

That’s 550 tons!

divided by 5 or 6 blocks, ehhh very doable .

๐Ÿ™‚

OK Heres one … ๐Ÿ˜†

4inch thick steel plate 10 foot x5 foot

make a box 4 equal sides , no bottom

top is a hindged lid (ship hinges , not door )

looks like a chest freezer with no bottom

top has a massive valve (maybe a hose can be attached)

outside walls have 4-6 inchs shelves may be beams can be attached extending outward 6 10 feet from corners

See where I m going?

go the well head it self and sever the pipeline at the wellhead .

Lower the chest over the well head weight down the side beams with a few hundred ton of block or stone , this will hold the chest in place .

keep valve wide open , close door useing surface cranes

lock door down . weight door down with more block .

now close the valve .

Come on, we can build this in my garage!!! ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜†
