Quick session with the cricket
This morning I went out for a quick paper punching session before the harsh South African sun gets high in sky.
I filled my Kalibrgun Cricket .25 to 220bar, cleaned the barrel with surgical spirits and got ready to send some lead.
The wind was quite strong blowing about 12-16km/h. I used shooting bags in the prone position. Not the most comfortable way, but it is stable and that matters most.
I shot three, 5 shot groups at 50m. All with JSB king 25gr straight out of the tin. I dont hunt much further than this, becuse I rarely have a stable platform. I mostly hunt out of the seated position, out of hand, or off some homemade shooting sticks.
The wind varied quite a bit, but I kept the same POA the whole time. Unforunatly I pulled one of the shots, but otherwise I am pretty happy with these 3 groups.
I would like to see what kind of groups you guys are getting.

All I needed to do when Printing was choose the option “real Life size” (translated by me from Swedish” it worked perfectly
If we use the “on target” program then it doesn’t really matter what you are shooting on, it could be blank paper. What matters is After all the ctc measurement.
Since i do several BR matches a year i’ll use the international 25m or 50m BR target for practice. What we use for eventual on-line matches doesn’t matter to me though. Variation is good ! 😉
I think you need to just select LETTER size in the print option ?
Here’s the target I usually use at my home range, like Bogman I don’t like to walk.
The horizontal and vertical lines help me to level the shot.
On my pellet target trap I have a bubble level on the top.
Just download and print, the bull is .22″.

Nice and simple targets, does anyone know if a A4 printer can print a 8,5×11 or are the A4 guys screwed? I know you can do a % when printing but I can’t remember a 8,5×11 setting
I’ve been making targets for specific purposes using Adobe Illustrator. It’s easy to align objects, shade, set specific sizes and save in multiple formats. I may be able to create a TAG target, as earlier suggested, if agreement is reached. Personally, I think any boxes or lines should be light/thin, so one can see the groups. This is one I made and use a lot:

Modifications are easy. This one is for the 8.5 x 11 in standard letter/copy paper. Lots of targets means less time changing them!

I like to think that it doesn’t matter how fast or slow a pellet flies (as long as it doesn’t go too fast that it becomes unstable). As long as everything is consistent (pellet speed, weight, rifle balance, shooting technique, rifle hold, etc.), you will hit what you aim at. It is my firm belief that accuracy resides in consistency. It also helps to understand a bit of physics. Once these have been mastered, precision becomes possible. If we can land a man to the moon or spacecraft to its destination with astounding precison, we can also do so with a projectile to its target.

Hey spinj, it works! I am not a good shooter, maybe not even average, and I usually only shoot prone with bipod. But today I tried leaning my back against the wall and simply resting the gun on my hand/knee like you did. I then shot a 5 shot group, now this was only around 20 yards BUT it was shot with a 7 fpe gun, or around 10j

wow, that was an interesting read. I did not read it Before but i read it now and I´m glad I did, thanks for sharing 🙂
Center bull is 2.5 mm, inner ring is 1/2 inch, and outer ring is 1 inch. If this work for everyone or most, then i will do one for 50 meters/yards with a bull of 5.5 mm, 1/2 ring, and 1 inch ring.
I like it, however the first bullseye is off center
I’ve notice during a shot cycle if the gun moves straight back and forth and after the shot settles, if my radical ends up at the same place of rest/POA the shot will be a great one.

Thanks GKU! I agree with you. It means that you’ve positioned your gun the way it naturally wanted to be in before taking the shot. Great job!
