Q:

The T.U.R.D Coming !

Just a pic of the Tactical Utilitran Rifle Design striaght from the Voleworks design dept. This is what ive come up with …. 😕

Its .177 , 15 round mag , collapsible stock , AR grip , pump action , shrouded , 70 shot regulated and at 70cm long.

I wanted to design a gun for the guys who do ” Ratting ” as its known over here ,so its a small take down type gun to shoot rats in barns. If i get the drawings finished in the next couple of weeks the first prototype should start soon arfter on my mates new CNC machining centers .
Ive been drawing on Auto CAD for weeks , and im now experiencing the joys of learning 3D CAD ( for this and my CNC mill).
So i thought id see what you guys like / dislike because its not going to be for sale in the USA …hehe !. 😀
So what do you think !

i,m just in after getting off the phone with u mate and i,.ve heard all that crap u love your stocks more than me shit .i hate to say hell ye lol 😈

Man that is coming along great you do some very nice work can’t wait to see it all together

Great stuff.

I have to be sneaky and work in the shop when the wife is at the gym. If you even look in the wrong direction they think you are ignoring them. 🙄

Thanks for the coments all 😀 . Trigger group finished , looks good so far ! , but you can never tell until its together. Got to finish the milling on the hammer to see if it locks ok. Side locking catch that will hold the probe back to fit the mag done with abit of wasting to stop it looking like a block. This will be sprung by a leaf spring to stop it catching the pump mech.

Indexing lever finished and all ground in with the magic polishing paste 😕 moves nice and smooth with good hight on the revolver pin but i bet theres some adjusting yet to come 😕 .

Now got to find some small springs from somewhere to try everything out ? . Total spend so far £12.50 but you can add a fiver for a new 2mm tap ….damit 😯
L8r all 😀

P.S As far as the girlfriend …hmmm ! why do you think she hates my hobbie so much ? All i get is you love your shed more than me ! Who,s heard that before ? ….hehe …. join a very long que 😀

A big Blam, Blam.

it,s comeing along nicely mate . can,t wait to see this puppy working

With your eye for detail you woman must be very pleased….If you know what I mean 😛

That is some nice work. Damn ❗

Few more bits done pins , trigger , safety and some of the parts for the indexing mech. Had to redesign how the safety works as it would have been abit dangerous , so now it works by locking the mid shear rather than the hammer shear and means ive got to make another part ….damit
Second go at the revlover pin as i managed to snap a 2mm tap in the first so the scrap pile is off and running 🙁 .

I wanted the safety to work by pushing forwards to release but ive had to change that idea so now the safety is off when moved backwards. Made the stock fixing pretty but only because i put a big dent in it …damit 😕

Took forever to make the index parts slide , grinding paste is my best friend at the moment 😕 but it moves with light finger pressure.

The one problem with a build log is having a £400 camera kicking around my very small shed. Its very time consuming as i found with my T4. Everything has been done in a vice or an angle adjustable table. The shaping of the radius on the breech was done by turning plugs to the size i wanted then centering the plug into the breech bore . It was then centered in my lathe with a tool turned over . By running the carriage towards the chuck you can cut a pretty good radius ( just like a Shaper Machine ) and then finish of with files. The more cuts the better the rad but it dose take forever…..just think about it and it will eventualy make sence …..maybe ! 😕 .
Getting closer to having to make the probe so im setting aside space for the scrap mountain 😯 .

Thats coming along nicely. The finished product is amazing, but has to require a LOT of set-up and I’m very interested in that – Do you have any pics of it being machined?

Damn!
