Q:

The T.U.R.D Coming !

Just a pic of the Tactical Utilitran Rifle Design striaght from the Voleworks design dept. This is what ive come up with …. 😕

Its .177 , 15 round mag , collapsible stock , AR grip , pump action , shrouded , 70 shot regulated and at 70cm long.

I wanted to design a gun for the guys who do ” Ratting ” as its known over here ,so its a small take down type gun to shoot rats in barns. If i get the drawings finished in the next couple of weeks the first prototype should start soon arfter on my mates new CNC machining centers .
Ive been drawing on Auto CAD for weeks , and im now experiencing the joys of learning 3D CAD ( for this and my CNC mill).
So i thought id see what you guys like / dislike because its not going to be for sale in the USA …hehe !. 😀
So what do you think !

When I look at the pictures it does not come clear to me which part the pumping handle is going to effect. As I see it, you might have a little problem when chocking the gun – It might just be me

Heres the reg …forgot to add it ! 😕 , think il be able to lose one O-ring from the reg body that seals against the cylinder and maybe make it shorter as the valve its self with a smaller reservoir will hold maybe enough air . The reg will be fixed to the valve also , so it could be removed with the valve. Its based on the BSA design and info ive got from a Polish airgun forum ( Igors reg by memory )

Maybe il post it on Talks .ru. just for the fun of having abuse thrown at me 😀 …hehe !
L8r all 😀 from a very cold place in England ! -3 for F***ks sake 👿

Buba! But I don’t see a regulator on Your rifle! WHY I don’t see it?

😉

PS – exellent work! It’s amazing!

Wow Buba!! Hell of a rifle design!! Hope you can get it prototyped and then into production.

Your are certainly awsome 😯 ❗

Good luck ❗ ❗

This is the finished design , arfter 5 months of learning new programs , tweeking dia,s and moving bits here and there ive finaly reached the point of beening sick to death with it 👿 . As far as it been made for sale i wouldnt hold your breath …..your be a dead man ! welcome to the credit crunch 😈 .At the moment i cant splash out on the extra tooling to make it so im going to go away and build a guitar ! :8 .
Maybe around March time when its warmer and maybe il have some money to waste ? , il have ago at making it ( too much time in the design to leave it on my PC ) .
So this is the end of this post , just have to see if i start a new one later on 😕

L8r all 😕

As more bits get added keeping the price down gets alot harder . Its already getting abit on the highside pricewise for me ! but until the build starts its just me chucking numbers about. Hopefully il have a talk with my partner this weeekend and get a few more ideas about the finish and price.
Havent thought about a long range gun but maybe one for FT !. Being in the UK and stuck with the 12lb limit , designing a long range FAC airgun would be a waste of time. FAC airguns over here sell for alot less secondhand than the 12lb version . So il have to wait to see how your design comes out when your finished sniper782 ?

£600 sounds like a good price to pay for a gun like that…

Buba have you ever considered on designing a long range air rifle?

Im in the final stages of finishing the drawings ,its just tweeking and making sure it can be machined . At the moment im trying to get a full working anomation 😕 its proving to be hard work with all the mates in the final assembly. So maybe in a months time machining can start if my partner is ready. As for cost …hmmm! , i originaly wanted it to sell for about the £450 mark but with the indexing thats going to go up . Only get a real idea once machining starts and how long it takes to build , thinking near £600 at the moment and with a Magpul stock £900 lol 😯 . The $260 price tag makes buying a Magpul abit to expensive. Thats more than i wanted but with an in house built stock it should come down …..time will tell !
L8r all

Maybe someone has already suggested just a buy from Magpul for the stock.

Really like your work.

Congratulations Buba! Have you started the machining?
It’s really an impressive job, and I would like to “underline” that this forum is one of the most technologicaly advanced forums, since I don’t see any CAD drawings of guns (manufactured or custom made) in any other forum… 😆
Our Admin should create a new section for new guns and CAD drawings 🙄

But if it’s not too unpolite, can I ask you the final production cost of one of those cuties?? 😉

Cheers

This design is hopefully going to be made for sale but its not that easy over here as it would have to be put together and sold by a RFD . I was originaly going to make 5 off but that dont work out cost wise. If i cant get it made then il make it for fun if i get my mill CNC ,d or give away the drawings to somone with a CNC mill whos prepared to make it ( any takers ! ). Its just to much work for my mini mill 🙁

Looks great, are you gonna sell this one, or just building it for fun?

Thanks for the info WK , suprised that i need 4+ inchs for a shroud ! might half fit a silencer in that void ? ….as i can over here … 😀 .

The latest add on 10 shot indexing mag , my take on the T4 indexing system , still more to do ! .
L8r all 😀

Buba if it is a 12ftlbs gun I would give it at least 4″, 6″ is better.

As the power increases the length of the shroud also needs to be increased to contain the air my 16″ barrel gun has an 8″ shroud but it is shooting 30ftlbs.

Here is what you do. Get some tubing and make a bushing on one end and and endcap on another. Start the end cap at 4″ from the end of the barrel and shoot then slide the shroud up & move it away 1″ and shoot again, repeat until you get the decrease in sound that you want.

Just eye candy as its been to dam cold to go in the shed and finish my probe off. So this is how far ive got with the pump design , it cocks , locks and loads fine in my 3D drawing world as i finaly got the parts to move in animation ( took for ever ! ….damit ). The top pic is the finished gun but for a few changes on the tigger block to allow for tool geometry and a couple of parts to finish .

The cut away pic has changed since , with a differant pump cocking mech as above.

Anybody got any thoughts on how far the end of the barrel needs to be from the shroud end cap ? as ive got no experiance of shrouds 😀
