While you’re waiting for your Matadors……..
I thought I would share with you how I coped waiting for my Matadors. It’s a loooong story with a lot to learn. I started this thread back in June 2011 while still waiting, – and oddly enough it became one of the most viewed threads on this forum.
This is how it started:
As it happens, I am the lucky owner of a serious harem of nice guns. And I frequently visit my summerplace on the coast down south in Norway, where weather is the only restriction to my shooting….
Summernights are nice and light with sunset around 22hrs….:

So yesterday I quit Oslo for a few weeks. Fed up with my loooongish waiting for ED and friends to deliver I took 11 members of my harem with me.
Here they are:

As some of you may know, I test and review guns for our Norwegian forum, and this time a comparison of springers is on the agenda….
So go ahead and name them, from left to right…….
And yes. There will be a more in depth test of Lelya 090 who has got new glasses for the occasion…….. 😉
Life is too short to sit put and wait……… 😀

Get in line you old Fart! I’ve already sent him an unrequested deposit sufficient to cover lodging, assorted women, and a premium vodka beverage throughout my stay.
Now, I’ve got to find a bus service from Arkansas to Norwegia….
Hoot 😯
Man Zozo please let me come stay with you I will cook and clean and eat high on the hog!! I will bring my Edgun to 😆
lol…. 😀
Cooljo: Let’s hope you are right………. 😉
Ed: Paid/unpaid, – my fault. Sorry…… 😳
And yes, my language skills are not the best. While having a certain grasp of the four languages I speak apart from my own native tongue Norwegian, – I certainly master none of them to perfection. I’m sure the English speaking audience may have noticed already……… 😳
So yes, language barriers may play a part in this. Also typos which are common, – at least from my side……
But to blame language problems for the fact that my guns have not been deliverd to its’ destination in Germany as previously confirmed, – that would be barking up the wrong tree…………
There are still plenty of unanswered questions in this mess……. 😉
Let’s see what happens next now……… 🙄
In a few days I’ll be moving here:

– and most likely forget all about:

Life is too short not to enjoy……… 😉
😀
I am now almost sure that Trygve’s rifles are lost in… translation. Has anyone seen that very good film by Sophia Coppola?
‘Lost in translation’ is about a couple of Americans in Japan and a lot of the humor comes from the way Japanese people speak English.
When people communicate in a language other than their Mother tongue misunderstandings are very likely to occur. To give an example, Ed misunderstood me completely when I wrote to him recently. I asked him to do ‘his best’ about getting the gun to me in time and his reply was: ‘The best gun will never be bought, that is a dream’. You can all see how easy is get the wrong impression without having a perfect knowledge of the language you are communicating in.
So all this mess may STILL turn out to be a ‘Comedy of Errors’ gradually evolving into ‘All is well that ends well’.
Nik 🙂
Trygve, read carefully what I said, I said “paid order”, it sounds in the sentence as ” that you still have not your paid order” that means, at least, by my pour English that you have paid your order long time ago but still have not received it. Sorry if my bad English force you to think that I don’t remember that you paid me all but Veles 🙂
I think you didn’t understand him right, about 3-4 days, or he failed to explain it carefully. Here is his message in Russian, you can translate it by google:
**********

By the Germans messages I understood that they didn’t get the parcel when they were on vacation. The DPD service insured me that everything will be OK regarding the delivery. They have some regional collectors bases to keep undelevered parcels, anyhow they didn’t returned me the parcel. I have the same situation with Lothar Wlather when they send me your barrels, the courier cound’t find me at home and the barrells were takesn back to Tallin and they returned to me with the barrells in four days. I don’t think that Germans trick on me. I just think that I make the conversation with different people.
Everything will be fine.
I have nothing to say for today regarding this 🙁
Here is my translation:
Relax, its a big delay, but you will probly get that guns in your hands very soon.
It worth waiting 😀
The problem is not transit time from Germany to Norway. The problem lies here with the customs who will hold the guns and then send me a letter of advice a few days later asking me to turn up at the customs office with my import permits. That process may take a few days, – sometimes up to a week…….. I have done this many times and they know me…… 😉
😀
Ed,
Just a brief note on what you said above about “unpaid order”. As far as I remember it, I have paid for my two Matadors. The Veles remains unpaid until further notice due to this communication from yourself back in January:

Making a point now of “unpaid” is unfair to say the least…… 😉
Apart from that: Andrej’s email of today to the German company speaks for itself. Don’t you think ?
No need to bring up a lot of sad experiences from the past in this siituation. It can only “blur” the present situation where the fact remains that Andrej himself all of a sudden confirms my guns not to be with the shipping company but is expected to be delivered to them in 3-4 days.
That is contradictory to everything that has been said in the past and has nothing to do with the German shipping company as such……
As for shipment to Norway, – I shall stick to your routing. You know this better than I do…..
A delay is however inevitable, and I may ask the German Company to hold my shipment until I get back. There is no way I can receive a shipment when out of the country……… 😉
Guys, not problem we can deliver the guns by ANY service which you recommend just under one condition — you take all the risks for everything, the delivery, the custom problems, the lost of the guns etc, etc, etc. I want to remember one more time — Andrey had the problem due to the sending the guns to Norway by “usual” way, serious ones. The problems that can cause him loosing his weapon business. And I have no intention to push him anyhow to risk again. If he found that German company which delivers the guns and he guarantee that at least we will not loose the guns and will not have the problems –that is the way we will work. I repeat again — not everything OK with the Germans, the fact the Trygve talked with the and found them very kind doesn’t mean anything because I know other facts, when they send the parcels to the U.S. there were some problems as well, they told Andrey that ALL four parcels were sent at the same time but instead we found out that two were really sent and the other two not, and arrived to U.S. a month and a half after they told “everything was OK” and based on the tracking number, which they finally gave we saw they were not sent at all at the time they ensure there’ve been sent.
Again, please don’t make the conclusions before you have ALL the information. I don’t have as well as Trygve. We are trying to find out the REAL situation and find the parcel at least. As soon as I have ANY information that I can trust on — I will let everybody know.
Ed probly knows only what Andrei tells him.
I just see some facts.
Your parcel need to be delivered by some other currier service to currier service in Germany which is able to deliver to you.
Relax, its a big delay, but you will probly get that guns in your hands very soon.
It worth waiting 😀
I base my confirmation on Andrey’s words. As you know I cannot send the guns myself. That is your right to take any side, either us or Germans. I know for sure that all the guns were in Estonia in August, after I have come there to settle the carrying process. The fact is that Andrey knows the situation with Norway parcel, remembering that arrest and taking into consideration that you still have not your paid order. The fact is that Andrey send the guns to Germans, they were South Africa guns (sent to Germans a little earlier and they managed to reach them before Germans went for vacation) and guns in S.A. got them already. The fact is that Germans not always do the right things in the right time. I asked Andrey many times for the tracking numbers and he told me that Germans didn’t provide him with it, if to think that Andrey wasn’t honest the time of the delivery would be later then I asked him about the information, but instead when Germans gave him the tracking number the parcel sometimes were at the place. I doubt that Andrey keep the information from my. There is no reason for it. So, even if to be neutral, to believe both sides at the same level I wouldn’t blame just one side, I think there is a quite of misunderstanding between them, especially taking into consideration that Andrey doesn’t speak both English and German but use the internet translation tools. So, I am expecting the information from Andrey.
All very well apart from the fact that Andrej and Ed already had confirmed my guns to be in Germany 10 days before the offer to DPD to Sweden came up………….. 😉
If you read Ed’s last posts again, you will see he confirms the shipments from Estonia to Germany took place at the same time…….. 😀
Hmm, How I look on this situation.
Andrei is if you aks me even sloppy or to much bussy with his main bussiness and do that shipping for Ed without emotion or interest for that.
If I understood right, he probly send parcel for USA with that German company, because its going straight to USA from Estonia.
You were talking something about to travel to Sweden for that guns, thats why he wait for you to see if you really want delivery for Sweden.(partial your mistake in all this mess)
After he saw that you want direct to Norway he send again with some currier that guns to currier service in Germany which is able to deliver your guns direct in Norway(same service that shipping guns to USA)
You catch summer vacations in Germany, currier service that need to deliver from Estonia to Germany failed to deliver and now need to pass 3 days to go to deliver again at same address.
This is just my spekulation, but if I am at good trace, you still have time to get that guns.
3 days until they deliver to german company, then probly 3 days until they reach you and after that you still have 2-3 days to play with Edgun technology 😉
🙄
Trygve, until now I had hopes that this Comic Tragedy will turn miraculously into a Tragicomedy with a Happy End. That’s why I joked about it. I’m not the mood any more 😥
It all seems very serious indeed and someone’s reputation will suffer. I sincerely hope it won’t be Ed’s.
Chin up, friend!
Nik 🙂
lol… 😛
No this surely isn’t a pretty picture right now, – but life is more than EDguns……. 😉
That said, I have been fed with so many stories of various kinds related to my order (and others) during this last year that I have stopped believing in anything…..
I thought it only fair this time to share with you, – partly as a result of the noble Senior Hoot’s earlier request to submit spesifics/facts:

We’ve yet to see the final outcome of this…..
And I still don’t know where my guns are exactly…… 🙄
And whether it is true or not that they attempted delivery during the vacation period of the Germans, – well I don’t know anymore. I find it strange though that Andrej managed to have the pacage for the US delivered. Why not mine ?
According to Ed they were shipped at the same time……
Also why 3-4 more days are needed by the courier if my guns reeally are in Germany, – well that beats me. It takes UPS or DHL 24 hours to deliver from Germany to Oslo………
As they say: watch this space, – the story does not end here….. 😉
😀

Yet another coincidence, Trygve 😉
PS. Your instructions to make that picture bigger greatly surpass my computer intelligence 😥
