Q:

While you’re waiting for your Matadors……..

I thought I would share with you how I coped waiting for my Matadors. It’s a loooong story with a lot to learn. I started this thread back in June 2011 while still waiting, – and oddly enough it became one of the most viewed threads on this forum.

This is how it started:

As it happens, I am the lucky owner of a serious harem of nice guns. And I frequently visit my summerplace on the coast down south in Norway, where weather is the only restriction to my shooting….

Summernights are nice and light with sunset around 22hrs….:

So yesterday I quit Oslo for a few weeks. Fed up with my loooongish waiting for ED and friends to deliver I took 11 members of my harem with me.

Here they are:

As some of you may know, I test and review guns for our Norwegian forum, and this time a comparison of springers is on the agenda….

So go ahead and name them, from left to right…….

And yes. There will be a more in depth test of Lelya 090 who has got new glasses for the occasion…….. πŸ˜‰

Life is too short to sit put and wait……… πŸ˜€

You bet….!!! πŸ˜€

But what happened to our dear Koljo/Nik from Bulgaria now ?

All of a sudden his pictures have gone, – and if I click on them this is what I get:

Are you getting the same …? πŸ™„

πŸ˜€

Zoco, thank you for the in depth information about the Falcon, im going to place the order now.

I really “reallly” hope you get your R3, Good luck & please keep up posted whenever you can.

BINGO !!!!!

I have just received the following email from the German shippers:

“Dear Mr. xxxxxx,

it’s correct, we are doing the shipping for Mr. Pesterov worldwide.

We have been out for holidays form 4th to 26thAugust.

We received in the mean time a package from Mr. Pesterov.

We’ll check the added instructions on Monday.

Best regards”

At least I know now that there is a package from Andrey with the shippers in Germmany. A packet that apparently was received during their vacation. Something I find just a little bit odd as both Ed and Andrey had confirmed guns were with the shipping company and ready for export before their vacation. Apparently a bit of innaccurate information there, – but who cares…….

Now it remains to be seen what’s in that package……….

I try not to hold my breath, – but find it veeeery difficult !!!! πŸ˜‰

Zoco,

How is that Falcon ? Which Model is it ? i wanted to buy one, would you choose it over the Air Arms 510 ?

Hi Naser,

My beloved FALCON PRARIE B .22 is one of my absolute favorites and probably the rifle that I have shot the most over the recent years. Mine is set to deliver some 30 ft/lbs which she does around her sweetspot. The Falcon is NOT regulated and the shotstring will typically look like the one in yellow below. The below is a comparison of shotstrings from the same day of shooting:

My AA 510 SL Carbine shows up a very smiliar shotstring at full power, – althoug a lot shorter which is to be expected with less air available.

Why do I like the Falcon so much ? Well she has been trouble free for many years and in my opinion the 8 shot all metal mag is a better solution that that of AirArms. Accuracy is incredible out of the box, – but she is a bit on the long side for hiking in the open. Mine would always be fitted with a bipod and shot from a fixed position. Also I like the bolt action which gives it a feel of a “real” rifle….

The AirArms’ advantage is the adjuster that lets you adjust pressure from around 12 ft/lbs and up. And the side lever. That is lacking on Falcon. Apart from that I find the two rifles perform very much the same…..

But then, they do come from more or less the same factory with common ancestors in the past…..

I find both rifles very well built and with a very good blueing. However I would have liked them both to be factory regulated, and they may not be technologically up to date compared with for instance Daystate….

So I guess it’s all up to personal preferences…….

And me being what I am, – I could not choose one. I had to have both of them………. 😳

PS: You’ll also see the FALCON as second from left in my picture on page 1. Gives you and idea about length compared with other guns…

I have a furcoat too you see……….. πŸ˜‰ :

All I need now is one (or two) of these Muammar guards to join me and the Matadors, – and I’ll be having pictures that you would not be able to pay for…….!!! πŸ˜†

Trygve, did you ask your friend that is Putin’s security advisor to “secure” your Edguns for shipment? Myself, I would have tried that about 10 months ago! πŸ˜†

No I did not. Im not sure about the effect of such an action. It may actually be counter productive……… πŸ˜‰

You were wise enough not to follow that Old goat’s advice, Trygve. But if you don’t get your guns on Monday my advice would be to seek assistance from the lady on the picture above. I am sure she would be able to relieve all the tension accumulated in your body and mind while waiting for your Edguns.

Dear Nik,

Please, – whenever you show pictures that may have attributes of a certain kind and/or a potential ability to increase testosterone production/generate enthusiasm within the bloodstream of elderly males, – I urge you to show them in the proper size right away…..:

Your picture hosting site is way too slow too enjoy clicking on thumbnails that may or may not open. And if they do, they come with lots of cunterproductive distracting ads that may divert the concentration/covetousness of the craving viewer which again may lead to upredictable results… πŸ˜‰

Thanks anyway………. πŸ˜€

PS: If you insist on using that site of yours, click the button “image” on the reply page once, then copy the lower right link on your site and paste it immediately after “img”. Finally place your cursor immediately after what you just posted and click on the “img” button one more time. Then click preview to check the result………. πŸ˜‰

I don’t know how it is done in Russia but, if had a friend that was Obama’s security advisor, I think that I could get a few air rifles eased thru customs!

Then again, if I had a friend in the Obama administration, I would be to ashamed to admit it!

I doubt that I think anything more of Obama than Ed does of Putin.

I will have my fingers crossed for you Sunday night, my time!

Ed said that the gates are gonna open the 1st of September. My birthday is the 9th. Getting my 25 long would be a great birthday present!

I keep my fingers crossed, Trygve…

I keep them crossed too, Trygve:

And so does this dear friend of mine:

quote Ed:

Couple of times in a months I go to Google and type there EDgun, choose “last two weeks” and read, what Google gives me. Usually I read English and Russian, but to my surprise I found that I can read more languages :). Of course the translation is pour but quite understandable, today I read Iran’s airgun forum, Bulgarian, Estonian and Germans.

Well, to tell you truth I am very proud of this fact — by making my guns, which are not bad :), communicating with you guys on different forums, answering letter, which I have up to 50 every day I show to the whole world that Russians are not the kind of fellows as Hollywood is used to show them, drunk, stupid and not able to anything. I do hope I am quite successful in showing us as smart guys, which are good engineers, easy to communicate, honest and reliable. I am very proud that my guns are among the little number of things that Russia can be proud of, since they are welcome by the shooters from out of Russia. The only problem — nobody cares about it in Russia πŸ™ I mean authorities…

ED,

You have every reason to be proud of yourself…….

The way you handle your communication with your customers is outstanding in this world of airguns….

Added to that you have created a product that obvioulsy sells itself even without serious marketing efforts….

If I was to write another book about “guerilla marketing” I would have used you and your operation as an example…..

In the Western hemisphere there are not too many brands or trademarks out of Russia that are well known. You are about to create one, – and the fun thing is you only partly do it yourself….

We, – all of us on these forums and boards, – we help to build an image of a brand that we actually have not seen a lot of…….

Seen from a marketing perspective, – EDguns deserve a medal. Nobody could have staged this better……..

Let’s get the products now…. πŸ˜‰
