Q:

While you’re waiting for your Matadors……..

I thought I would share with you how I coped waiting for my Matadors. It’s a loooong story with a lot to learn. I started this thread back in June 2011 while still waiting, – and oddly enough it became one of the most viewed threads on this forum.

This is how it started:

As it happens, I am the lucky owner of a serious harem of nice guns. And I frequently visit my summerplace on the coast down south in Norway, where weather is the only restriction to my shooting….

Summernights are nice and light with sunset around 22hrs….:

So yesterday I quit Oslo for a few weeks. Fed up with my loooongish waiting for ED and friends to deliver I took 11 members of my harem with me.

Here they are:

As some of you may know, I test and review guns for our Norwegian forum, and this time a comparison of springers is on the agenda….

So go ahead and name them, from left to right…….

And yes. There will be a more in depth test of Lelya 090 who has got new glasses for the occasion…….. 😉

Life is too short to sit put and wait……… 😀

Hoot, – to be honest I am not. But in this case I’ve had to……. 😉

“EDgunitis” and all that……..

That’s what they said in the Hemmingway museum in Key West. FLorida too before they put my picture up in “lookalike” competition. I didn’t win….

That said “The old man and the sea” is one of my favorites….

I would love to know a bit more about how you have earned your living in the past, and what it is that carries you all about the world.

I’ve been very fortunate Hoot. I’ve been working in a growing global industry for 35 years. The story itself is not interesting, – but it took me around the globe a few times. Including several times to Moscow/ Russia where I have friends, – one of which is actually a security adviser to Mr. Putin. He once gave me five bottles of vodka on departure. A nice gesture that turned out to be less nice when trying to pass customs in Norway…. 😉

PS: By the way, how do you like that little Edgun Leyla shown on one of your tables? That has got to be one sweetheart of a tiny Edgun.

I love this little Lelya which previously was owned by MamCrackin on this forum. Having friends blueprinting all sorts of guns, they also looked inside this little gem and found nothing but top notch engineering. Something that is not always true with high priced guns from other makers. Her main advantage though is her size. She can be carried almost in any laptop bag, – and she delivers brilliant results out to 55 yds. (Have not tested at longer distances). The Lelya was the one that opened my eyes to EDguns (- and gave me the “EDgunitis” unfortunately).

If I get my R3s now, – I can promise you more pictures and test reports than you ever wished for……..

But I need them here first…….. 😉

One quick question, Zoco, and I’ll get out of your thread…

Ed, can you tell us when the semi-auto breech and or Edgun Matador semi-automatics will begin to arrive in the U.S.

Just a brief answer….but please answer, as many of us want this feature so badly.

Regards,

Hoot

I stopped working on it now since there are few things which need to be completely rebuilt. But I remember about it 🙂

Couple of times in a months I go to Google and type there EDgun, choose “last two weeks” and read, what Google gives me. Usually I read English and Russian, but to my surprise I found that I can read more languages :). Of course the translation is pour but quite understandable, today I read Iran’s airgun forum, Bulgarian, Estonian and Germans.

Well, to tell you truth I am very proud of this fact — by making my guns, which are not bad :), communicating with you guys on different forums, answering letter, which I have up to 50 every day I show to the whole world that Russians are not the kind of fellows as Hollywood is used to show them, drunk, stupid and not able to anything. I do hope I am quite successful in showing us as smart guys, which are good engineers, easy to communicate, honest and reliable. I am very proud that my guns are among the little number of things that Russia can be proud of, since they are welcome by the shooters from out of Russia. The only problem — nobody cares about it in Russia 🙁 I mean authorities…

I don’t know where Andrey is I wrote him that the first thing on Monday he has to call Germans and force them to send your parcel immediately.

Thanks ED,

Let’s hope he reads your communication. He obviously did not read mine…… 😉

Trygve

Hi all,

As the number of hits on this thread is growing faster than I can say my name, – there is obviously a lot of interest in how EDguns will ship…

Out of curiosity, I would like to know how many nationalities are following this thread.

So far I’ve been able to spot:

USA
Russia
Norway
Belgium
Dubai
Argentina
Bulgaria

Any others, please identify yourself…. 😉

Not only will it give an interesting “angle” and potential “impact” when I speak to the Germans on Monday. It may also tell us a little about how widespread the interest for EDguns is in the global market…….

Something that eventually may filter through to the “right” people in the Russian administration……..

So please, if you don’t mind: If nothing else, – tell me where you come from when you drop in on this thread………. 😀

Thanks……….

Trygve 😀

Zoco, you’ve got to be the most patient man in the world.

I’ve been reading this little passion play for months now and I never cease to be amazed at your calm demeanor and cosmopolitan view of this very understandable frustrating situation.

You look a lot like the American author Ernest Hemmingway.

I would love to know a bit more about how you have earned your living in the past, and what it is that carries you all about the world.

You live a life that seems extremely interesting, at least to me.

Kindest regards,

‘Ol Uncle Hoot 😯

I keep my fingers crossed, Trygve, for your guns delivered as soon as possible, otherwise I will think that Norway is the most hard reached country for my guns 🙁

Hi Ed,

Germany ships airguns to Norway every day (HW100s & Dianas) without any problem. There is no reason why this should not work….

As I’ll be leaving for London and later Lanzarote on Sept 11th, it’s imperative that they ship immediately on Monday……….

Do you know where Andrey has gone ? He has turned very quiet lately…..

Trygve 😀

I keep my fingers crossed, Trygve, for your guns delivered as soon as possible, otherwise I will think that Norway is the most hard reached country for my guns 🙁

No Guys, please don’t leave quite yet….

I may need all the support I can get………..

Ed posted this in another thread on Fri Aug 19, 2011 5:39 am:
——————————————————————————–

“Germans are on August holidays until 27th of August. Unfortunately we have no possibility to send guns right from Estonia, we had the bad experience with it and the case is still not closed (your guns, Trygve). So, the guns for Norway (Trygve) are in Germany, the guns for U.S. (Tony)
are in Germany, the guns for Louise (S.A.) are in Germany. We expect them to be send at the end of August. Andrey will force them as soon as catch them at work.

For the next delivery, I do hope we will have few dozens guns in Estonia in September/October and, hope, we solved the problem with the delivery.

Ed”

Meaning Monday may turn out to be a historic day for those who suffer badly from their terrible disease “EDgunitis” for which there is no cure but to receive what they have ordered……..

I’ll be on the phone with the German company first thing in the morning on Monday (I speak a bit of German), unless Andrey or ED have news before that. Andrey for some reason has gone completely quiet ever since I asked him for the exact location of my guns and the contact details for the German company. I sent him an email on Aug. 10th which still has not been replied to. I beg and pray he is not away on holiday too…

Anyway, I now have the contact details I need confirmed from another source……

Come Monday and we should all know a lot more……… 😉

How to survive until Monday I have no clue though….. 😳

😀

Thanks for posting on the ST, Tedd. Please keep it up with various pellets under all sorts of conditions. .250 in the wind is not bad at all, and I’d encourage you to start a new thread on that topic. It would be great to do a side-by-side with the two other barrels you’ve got 😉

But, NO, we must not get off our greedy friend’s thread until he finally gets his two dozen Edguns 😆 😆 😆

Nik 🙂

Nik, I went out today and shot the FX barrel. The wind was 8-10 mph and gusty. I tried to shoot when the wind was calm. I wasn’t happy with the groups but, I have just started tuning the barrel.

I got one .250″ 50 yard 5 shot group and a few that were under .500″. I hope that the wind was causing me problems. It might be too early to tell but, right now I think that the BSA barrel has a definate edge.

I have a couple of high powered lights ordered and I might have to do some night shooting after the wind has died down.

I need to start another topic and get off of Trygve’s topic.

Hey Nik, I agree with you but, he hasn’t got them yet!

Sorry Trygve, I just had to!

What the hell are you going to do with 3, R3 22 standards? I could see one for each hand, how are you going to shoot the third one?

Hoot will step in soon and tell us how he can shoot 3 guns at once. Most of us won’t want to hear how he does it. 😆

I still haven’t heard where the R3 25 long that you sent me is. 😥

Tony, can I please get it soon?
