While you’re waiting for your Matadors……..
I thought I would share with you how I coped waiting for my Matadors. It’s a loooong story with a lot to learn. I started this thread back in June 2011 while still waiting, – and oddly enough it became one of the most viewed threads on this forum.
This is how it started:
As it happens, I am the lucky owner of a serious harem of nice guns. And I frequently visit my summerplace on the coast down south in Norway, where weather is the only restriction to my shooting….
Summernights are nice and light with sunset around 22hrs….:

So yesterday I quit Oslo for a few weeks. Fed up with my loooongish waiting for ED and friends to deliver I took 11 members of my harem with me.
Here they are:

As some of you may know, I test and review guns for our Norwegian forum, and this time a comparison of springers is on the agenda….
So go ahead and name them, from left to right…….
And yes. There will be a more in depth test of Lelya 090 who has got new glasses for the occasion…….. π
Life is too short to sit put and wait……… π

OK ?
Let us know if you are getting the long .25 that I did not want………
π
Loco, I saw one of your posts that listed the Edguns you had ordered. I can’t find it now. Would you post it again.
I am not going to give you a congrats on finally getting the Edguns, I don’t want to jinx you and I am also very jealous! π₯ π
@ Naser:
I agree……
50 degrees plus is way too hot for comfort. Anything above 30 for me, – and I’ll run for shelter. I honestly don’t understand how people can cope with higher temperatures……. π―
@ Nik:
That IS a beautiful piece of Chinese furniture….! π
I lived 6 months in the countryside near Shangai in 1976, – and I saw a lot of wonderfully crafted pieces. All I managed to take home to Norway was one of those “counting frames” that they used as their “laptop” at the time. They actually used them in banks too, – and they were able to calculate faster with that instrument than I could with my newly purchased electronic pocket calculator………. π
And Ice: I don’t drink Whiskey, – so no need for icecubes. Nor snow in August for that matter…….
So after having stuffed myself with canned fishballs that expired in 1989 with a sauce based on flour from 1988, currypowder from 1985, fresh garlic and shrimps:

– I spent the night with one of my favorite activities which is serious hard core “porn” from the 50ies. I have a lot of it, and it always strikes me that although models, tools and thechniques change over time, – the basics remain the same. Guys always enjoyed stories like this I think…. π :

I have several of these wonderful post ww2 magazines. You can hardly find a better read……… π
Now I am back in Oslo.
On Monday it will happen……..
EDguns on their way to Oslo………..!!! :8:
π
Perfect 28 C over here with the Darkest of Ocean’s temperature being 25-26C. Can’t imagine a better atmosphere for promiscuity π π π
But wouldn’t you call this a coinsidence Trygve:

Only my chest (an original antique Chinese one) is prettier than yours :6:
See, one can always become more jealous π
PS. The good thing about that snow is you can always put some in your glass of whiskey if you run out of ice. π
π
Its a lot better than 50c & 100% Humidity π

Friend Nik,
Talk for yourself……….
I am jealous, – very much so too………. π³
And while you perform promiscuous acts in the darkest of all oceans imagining my friends holding your long thing, I have to cope with this right now:

Snow in August is NOT what I want……… π₯
π
I think I will go out and shoot my Edguns in the morning while I am waiting for the R3 to come in.
It’s all about having hair in the right places, OLD goat! π
Enjoy your shooting, we are not jealous of you
Damn; I have more hair than both of you oldsters combined! π
I think I will go out and shoot my Edguns in the morning while I am waiting for the R3 to come in.
As it happens, – my dear friend Muammar…
…how was the Black Sea this summer ? This obscene picture of yourself (obviously taken several years back), may suggest it has not been all that bad……..?
A couple of more days now….![]()
1. So glad we are BOTH dear to you. Me and Muammar, I mean π π π
2. I noticed that the lovely young creature you are introducing me to is holding your BSA in her hands. I have an even longer BSA and she is welcome to hold mine too π π π
3a. Life at the Southern Black sea coast has not been treating me too well, Trygve, for the simple reason (which you know too well) that life without Edguns can not be considered good π π π
3b. I took the obscene picture of me only MINUTES before I posted so obviously it’s NOT several years old π Not so bad looking at my ripe age, am I π π π
4. I will rejoice with you when you finally get the coveted Edguns but would expect in return a reciprocal financial remuneration for doing that
Take good care of yourself,
Nik π
My Dear Nik,
As it happens, – my dear friend Muammar have sent me some pictures of these guards:

Unfortunately I cannot share all of them with you because Photobucket does not like women much (nor may the owners of this site)…. π
Apparently your picture hosting side has a different set of rules, – or could it be that you openly try to abuse their terms of use …? π―
” ..Promoting pornographic, sexually explicit, violent, lewd or obscene materials….”
That said, how was the Black Sea this summer ? This obscene picture of yourself (obviously taken several years back), may suggest it has not been all that bad……..?
Here this has been the situation lately:

– so I have been stuck inside my shed most of the time:

– polishing things waiting for better days…….. π
A couple of more days now….![]()
I’m fine, Tedd, thanks. Hope you are too.
I wish someone would do side by side tests comparing .22 and .25 Matadors for wind deflection at various velocities.
And, yes, please report on the ST barrel, particularly at long ranges.
Hey Koljo! How are you doing?
That BSA barrel shoots better than the stock LW barrel. The different action mounting and weight sorting pellets helped also. I only shoot sorted JSBs now.
I currently have the stock LW barrel, a larger OD LW barrel, the BSA barrel and I just got the FX smooth twist barrel in today. I am having the FX barrel fitted right now. My 25 long is down for a couple of days and I miss it already! I basicaly have the stock Edgun barrel mounts and 3 sets of custom mounts. It would be great if airgun barrel makers would pick a standard size!
I would really love to have an indoor 100 yard range so I could shoot all 4 barrels back to back and pick the winner. The different action mounting system and sorting pellets have made a difference. The stock barrel needs another try.
I have read a lot of hype on the smooth twist barrel; it will have to be unreal to beat the way the BSA is shooting right now. If I can get my rangefinder to give me an accurate range, I have no problem hitting a ground squirrelβs 1β kill zone head at 100 yards. If I miss, itβs my fault. I really am amazed with the way the 25 long is shooting right now. My current best is a GS head shot at 126 yards.
I am going to take some pics of the FX barrel and start a new topic here. Stay tuned.
I don’t need another Edgun but, I have seen some pics of the R3 25 cal and it looks like Ed has outdone himself! I have read that he has the LW barrels made to his specs. Not a fan of walnut, I will have to paint mine black.
I might have a couple of barrels to try out on it also. π
We are all waiting for the R3s to get to us. I feel your pain! I am glad that I have 2 Edguns to shoot but, I REALLY HATE WAITING FOR EDGUNS!
I know exactly what you mean, OG. I have two BSA guns, and my John Bowkett Special PH#1 is fitted with a barrel hand-picked among many by the Master himself π
Still, I am told Ed is now putting different barrels on his new Matadors and I trust him when he said “I think I know a thing or two about barrels”.
Regards,
Nik
It’s 8 days now since I asked Andrey for the exact location of my guns and the contact details for the company in Germany…….
So far no reply…….. π
π
Zoco, will you please stop all this moaning and groaning!!! Here you are, living not in one but in TWO heavens with possessing all the top agirguns, eating the most delicious natural food, strolling amid the most picturesque landscapes on Earth, and… and… and… still not happy π― Don’t you realize you’ll soon be the owner of the MOST FAMOUS EDGUN EVER!!!!!!!!! And what a perfect story to tell to the now terribly lonely Gaddagi female guards, waiting to be comforted by a REAL MACHO, and not some wailing spoiled brat π :P:P
My very best regards from the southern Black sea coast, where I’m waiting for my Edgun too:

EDguns on their way to Oslo………..!!! :8:

@ Old Goat: Tedd, my jealousy of that lucky individual called Trygve aka Que Potra Tienes aka Que Suertudo Eres, is growing every single second and is bringing out the worst in me.
@ Zokoloko: Trygve, may I remind you a very wise saying: “The thrill is in the chase, never in the capture!”
