Q:

Cricket or Edgun POLL

Which do you prefer and why?

I don’t have neither but looking seriously into the Cricket. To me it has all the advantages over Edgun: price, shot count, superior regulator, magazine (that works) and looks. I’m going to wait a few months to see if they come up with a .25 compact. Otherwise I think I will get the .22 tactical standard. I just love the size of the .22 standard. Would prefer the .25 but it’s a little too long for me…

Damn it! I thought she referred to my Hair. IΒ΄ll try that Doughnut trick though. WeΒ΄ll see which one gets inflated first : That fluffy Pastry or the Finnish Viper.

BTW – i get that “itΒ΄s a little too long for me” -line from my wife from time to time … 😎

She’s referring to how long it takes you to get all 2.75 inches stiff enough to poke through a glazed doughnut, without bending double…or going flat again!!!

Doctor Evil himself commented: “Given the overall length of his drill bit, technically speaking, it could be argued that she’s still a virgin!!!

And here is one target from today. It is from cricket πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

I didn’t vote yet! Give me a couple weeks to make up my mind.

If it is this close he must buy one of each or he will be wondering if he made the right decision. Buying both is the only right decision.

Is your decision going to be based on the outcome of this Poll ?? 😯

As of now, Cricket has finally taken the lead 24-23!!!

I voted for the Edgun too but I would actually prefer the Cricket Skeleton stock with an oil finish on the Matador single shot mechanics for a 30 caliber. For the smaller plinker calibers I kind of like the Cricket MS design and function. πŸ˜›

My Cricket was one of the first ones, so it was low on the fps with 18 grns.
I spent a lot of time with the Cricket , it is an awesome accurate and predictable gun.
I have now spent the same amount of time with my R3…… I voted for the Edgun.

My reasons are as follows

The wood quality of the R3 is much better.

Edgun feels more nimble and lighter, I never actually weighed them.

Accuracy is equally good, but for some reason it happens easier with the R3

The mechanism on the Crickets mag is rather irritating, however it gets better the more you use it.

The mag holders on the cricket is stupid, as we all have dropped some mags in the dirt.

My Cricket had an issue with the pin on the cocking lever falling out… I think this was sorted on the later models.

So I sold my Cricket…………..

πŸ˜€ Do you mean Homiletical? Both of the Davalos twins are a little big boned for me. πŸ˜†

Hi tcmalker,

may I ask you why you step-in in people’s quiet life and “shacking it up” with this hamletical question? Are you sadistic or what?

Now I want to fight back and put the same suffering on you, let’s do a “Davalos Twins poll”.

Which of the Davalos Twins do you prefer?

Time will prove which one is better. Edgun has been running smoothly for years. I had Cricket std before and sold it. I don’t like the megs that fall out often and trigger group. It’s made so complicated, just look how many springs in that little box. the cocking level is not that solid. I pull it very carefully every time.
I also have Edgun. It’s made so simple and easy to maintain. It’s been proved accurate and solid for years. For MS of edgun, it’s new, but it still looks simple enough. We’ll see which one is better in a long run.

I own both in .25. My favorite right now is the Cricket, but the Edgun does not have a scope. When the Edgun has a scope and a fresh fill, it may be my favorite until it runs out of air and needs a fill. Then, the Cricket, if it has a fresh fill, will be my favorite, unless the Edgun has a fresh fill and is already in my truck and I’m headed to work.

Service is kind of a big deal, but rugged construction is, too. πŸ˜•

Some days, Thai food sounds good and other days only a steak will do. Get them both or you’ll be sorry! Some day, one of them will need an o-ring and then you’ll be glad you are not defenseless when the rodent hordes start chewing on your house or stealing from your fruit trees! :4:

Besides, the more air guns you have, the more places you can keep them close at hand 😈 and the less space you’ll have in your house to accumulate other crap you either don’t need or don’t enjoy.

Many know-it-alls base their opinion on what others are saying. Some who own both can be biased. I own both and both are excellent guns when it comes to performance (baring my recent experience) BUT… If you toss in service then there is no comparison.
