EDgun Matador, caliber .30, second generation.
Dear friends,
Some of you has problems with the valves on these guns. I have to confess that is my fault. The point is that I made heavier hammer in order to get more power, but left the valve rod the same diameter, 2 mm. So, when the hammer impact the valve, its inertion doesn’t allow the valve to move properly “forward and back” and the rod has too strong force and due to that force can curve.
Once again, that is my fault as the designer and engeneer of this gun. Sorry for that. I’ve ordered new 3 mm. hardened, polished rods (to tell you truth that is a kind of quest to find them, there is no one in Russia, I’ve ordered them from EU and they promissed me to deliver them in February). As soon as I have them I will make new valves and the valve guide to change in the back plug. I think that is quite easy operation which can be done by owner himself. Besides I will make a vid for that.
Sorry for that disadvantage, as you say “He is lifeless that is faultless.”
I will do my best to solve it as soon as possible.

Plug means the whole aluminum valve housing. Ed calls that the plug.

By “back plug” do you mean the complete front valve housing or just the brass sleeve the valve stem rides in?

And now its the 16th of march and we still dont have an answer from ED? What the fuck ED, are you sitting on your hands or is this one more broken promise to add to the long list of bullshit that has been fed to us? When are we getting answers on OEM parts to fix our guns? Thats great that soze did his but what about the rest of us? Its your product and your responsibility to do it right!!

Well like I said long ago. I’m not waiting for Ed’s fix. I have the formula, I gave it to you guys . If your gun is broken contact Hagan. It’s simple.
Anyone going to the IWA show to pick up our .30 parts from Ed or maybe check in and see WTF is going on? 😯

I have to turn the HST out by 3 turns to shoot 900-910 fps.
I tied a small rubber band on the protruded rod to hold it not to fall into the valve chamber for air filling.
Don’t crank the HST too high, avoiding the damage of brass valve nut.

Thanks of the data point. That is super light. I am at 7g on my VS with the standard hammer. Still not enough hammer mass to get the velocity I need at 130 bar. Waiting on a heavy hammer from Ed…tick tock!

That part rounded with red. So, it will be back plug and the valve. You just take the old out and install the new one with the new valve. That’s it.
