Ranger 45
Well I have a tracking number for the Ranger 45 that was assembled, test fired, chronyed, and shipped today.
28 inch barrel, standard stock and black crerakote finish, $1230 dollars including shipping.
To early to get the arrival date, it is not in the system yet.
Chrony numbers were:
Round ball. low setting 3000 PSI……1018 FPS
225………. low setting 3000 PSI……..877 FPS
405 shot 1 hi setting 4500 PSI………804 FPS
340 shot 2 hi setting 4500 PSI………843 FPS
These numbers will improve by 30 to 50 FPS as the rifle breaks in.

Well the credit should go not to us consumers, but to the men and of course the families and workers behind them who take the financail risks to design and produce guns and shooting products like the Ranger 45, the Shoebox and ahost of others.
It is so great dealing with men like Tom Kaye and Dan Mcvey, you of course have to remember that anything mechanical can have problems, it is the service behind the product that seperates the men from the boys.
While new products will always have bugs, the service I have gotten from both of these gentlemen has been above and beyond the call of duty, and in Dan Mcveys case a problem that was not of his manufacturing or design but from a jobber who supplies components.
While I have enjoyed my Condor experience, the ease of takedown and repair, and the ease of shooting the Ranger 45 accurately has impressed me.

This is how these things advance and we get better air guns and more toys because of the work you are doing now. Then a year from now I buy the ranger know which bullets to buy and everything. lol

I think I will order both the 300 grain bullet and the 360 gas checked and give them a try, both would work on elk and deer and be flat shooting. At 930 for the 360 and 1000 for the 300 they would be barnstormers.
They should shoot flat for 440 yards and then start climbing. 😆

Well first I have to get a tag, to do that I have to enter a drawing for the specific season and the specific area that I wish to hunt.
I will apply for the cow season in the area that my old house is in. The new owner has always invited me to stay there if I wish so I will take him up on that, during that time frame the house will be empty and there will be considerable snow on the ground.
Hopefully I will draw a tag, then the hunt will take place over a 10 day hunt during the period around Thanksgiving.
I prefer to hunt cows, altho sometimes they are more difficult that bulls. Bulls tend to be solitary in that area and therefore you only deal with one set of eyes, whereas cows are usualy in small herds of up to 12 or more, giving them several pretty good sentinels,
But mostly I like cow meat better, a bull unless it is a spike usually tastes like you pissed on the meat, but that is just my opinion after feeding it to the kids for years. And I find eating horns rather difficult.
If it all works out, I will draw a cow tag, and find a nice yearling cow. Barring that and not drawing a tag, I will go for the archery hunt which is in the last week of Auugust and runs thru to the third weekend of September. The archery hunt is a buy tag and hunt season and is not usually restricted to any particular hunting unit and is an either sex hunt.

ya i was just going to say that , i might buy some there soon, and get a mold that makes a over 400 g bullet , i think i will just buy OT laser cast for the lighter stuff .
You can also buy LEAD from EBAY. I usually find 50 lbs for about 50-60 bucks with FREE shipping.
