The EDgun regulator is one of the best in the world. It is straightforward and efficient. The regulator is capable of almost 1 FPS extreme spread. Wingman did an excellent video where he showed that variation is caused by external factors, not the regulator. So the Huma advantage comes from its low profile, this gives more volume in the plenum. I would put it on par with the Edgun regulator regarding efficiency
In the standard, the speed I can achieve realistically is 790 to 810 with the Huma and 34s. The long will hit about 830 max. I don’t like the current set up, and I would like to run the regulator at 120 and get speeds of 880 in the long with 34s. I have some ideas how to do it, and Wingman is going to help.
So be patient I am working on a solution to get more speed and not redline the capability of the Matador

Thanks guys.. the hammer weight is there to increase valve dwell time to use the added regulated plenum space.
You dont need the crazy high reg settings to get the high velocities with the heavy pellets.. we were just attempting destruction tests but failed to break anything.
The highest velocity with the heavies is achieved at 140 bar and there is no reason to go any higher than that, in fact I recommend you dont.
Depending on your gun you will only need a setting of 125 to 135bar to get 890 to 930 with the heavies.
My R3 long its tuned to 900 with kings with the reg set at 120bar, fitting this kit and setting the Huma to 130bar gave me 905fps with heavies without touching the HST.
The kit livens up the Matador like you wouldnt believe.
Brian is right, it feels like you are shooting a .22lr.
I get a B.C of .058 and have shot some of the best 100y groups I’ve ever shot with a PCP with the 34gr JSBs. I have done some very promising 200 yard tests but the spring winds here have been crazy this year.
I have also been cutting up the local starling and mynah population with it. The resulting scope cam footage is unfortunately just too graphic to share on my channel..
Im sure Brian will agree, the 34s are effective fast moving killers.
For the Gen 1 .30cal R3 owners having trouble with broken valves etc I am 99% sure this kit will sort out your issues too.

Quick observation….did you have to add hammer mass to get the valve open at 170b or to increase dwell with the larger plenum volume? Looks like the brass weights are removable? Slick setup and reminds me of what I needed and went thru with my .30 Gen 1 before the heavy hammer mod.

Larry absolutely. That is in the plans as well. I think the .22 monsterd should have a very good form factor. How the pellet will react in the barrel i dont know yet. As soon as we are done with the 25 Phil and I will work on the. 22.

Just giving an update: I have been testing the power plenum. Wingman sent the system to me about a week ago. The production model will look different than the one pictured here. My goal is to try to break the gun. I have 2500 rounds through the system so far with the 34 grain. I have 600 rounds through the gun with the regulator set at 170 Bar, 1000 rounds with the regulator at 150 Bar, 300 at 135 bar and 300 at 130 bar The 170 bar was an accident, but it proved the system can handle the extra power. I don’t want bent valves. Last night I disassembled the system, and the valve moved smoothly into the housing. There was no mushrooming or other discernable damage to the valve upon physical and visual inspection
The gun seems to like 880-900 as speed, but I was able to achieve speeds of 960 FPS in the long. The gun used a lot of air shooting 960 FPS, and for my use, the extra 60 FPS was not a good trade off with the volume of air used. The gun is not any louder than shooting Kings at 900. I have tried the Kings in this system, and they produced that supersonic crack, and I was just below the sound barrier (1080 FPS).
The BC is excellent; the gun hits critters with authority at super long range. The gun has almost become a mini 22 LR. I am working on a video that will show long range shooting and how to tune the Huma for this system.

Speaking about machines, I’ve heard that using them instead of humans implies additional tax in some countries.
Minimum wage in NZ is actually $15.75. The skilled machinists wage would be double that. I currently employ and pay 15 staff. Trust me when I say they cost you far more than just their weekly wages 😉
WTF?? I’ve seen a lot of CNC machines but that’s the first I’ve seen a freaken robot arm being used in conjunction with the CNC. WOw. Did the machinist in NZ demand $15 per hr minimum wage or something? lol
