Q:

Tactical Sniper

Decided to bite the big bore bullet and ordered a Evanix Tactical Sniper in .357 last night the after santa 10% discount made it hard to resist.

I friend that I converted to air guns had just gotten a Rainstorm 3D bullpup, was a hoot to shoot so I had to get my own, didn’t want the same thing, couldn’t afford the semi autos so went with the sniper. :4:

Already trying to figure out how to make it more neighbor friendly 😯

That might be a possible reason for premature failure of the rifle… do keep us informed!!

I think I understand how the port got drilled off center and too close to the o-ring groove.

They machine the valve assembly, all but the port, then insert it into the completed receiver and then drill the port, the valve assembles o-ring groove was either cut int eh wrong place or another dimension was off causing it to not seat in as far as it was supposed too.

got some ideas 😈

Broke the valve stem right at the o-ring
I didn’t find the rest of the stem 😯

Took the gun apart 😀

the receiver looks beautifully done

found more burrs and this:

either the port was drilled off center or the o-ring groove was machined in the wrong spot
You can’t see it in the photo but there are more burrs inside the valve and the o-rings had a bit shaved off

😆

I see new power mods in the future

Just got off the phone with PA, they’re going to send me a new valve
Much faster than sending it back to them
Plus it gives me and official OK to crack it open LOL

LOL thanks Hoot:

got a call from PA, gun is going back for them to look at fix/replace.

hopefully it won’t take too long.

That’s prettier than a one legged hooker!!!

Hoot:

I saw some pictures of the internals somewhere recently and it looked to me that the valves are the same. the action on those are just like a big airsoft gun – electric motor driving gears

@ DogWood how does the valve of the Sniper compare to other semi-auto Evanix, if you know?
I always wondered how the semi-auto and bolt action Evanix worked, but could not find a drawing or image. Im asking to see, where the potential for more power in the Evanix lies (shoot count doesn’t really matter, 10 max power shots will do 🙂 ). I guess, if they are magazine fed, they would need a another magazine design (bigger and longer holes) for heavier bullets/ slugs.

jeeze, I’m just glad you didnt get more to the face than air!!! It could have been worse. 😯

man that really stinks, that knowledge gained through experience?

That does stink but I bet PA will take care of you one way or another. Just be glad it’s not an EDGUN. U put a sling stud in the stock and he won’t take em back.

yeah its a real bummer, have no idea what is going to happen. 🙁
