Q:

The Airforce Bottle Regulator is here!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am pleased to announce that the Airforce bottle regulator is complete and I have the distinct honor to offer them for sale.

They have the M18 x 1.5 threadpitch for the Airforce bottle on one end and the .875-20UNEF threads for the E-TaCREG on the other.

The length and diameter are identical to the other JDS Airman regs.

I will be stocking them here at E-TaC central. The cost is $90 shipped, same as the E-TaCREG. CONUS shipping is included.

You can choose your output pressure from 1200-2500psi.

Here is a picture.

I have to get my tank filled (AGAAIN!!!) and I’ll get a shot count number for the 2000psi output.

Regards,
Jim

1200 came in today.

Now shooting with one of Tony’s valves. The difference you can see in the 2000 to 2100 numbers for the 25cal. Basically makes up for the 100 psi difference and then some.

Enjoy,
Jim

Here’s my table.

I don’t have full strings for most of these. Want to get velocity out there first, then if someone has a specific need for a shot string, I’ll work their request in.

Blanks will be filled in as time allows.

Jim

The 22 cal JSBs 24.4 g pellets hit hard, tear out backstops and would be a good alternative to a 25 cal , BUT the accucary is poor . At least it was for me and quite a few others who have posted about them . I tried shooting them fast , slow . lubed . unlubed . and everything inbetween .I got the best results at about 950 fps but it came no where close to the 18g JSBs for accucary . I think Ed posted that he was looking at a different twist rate LW barrel to shoot them in the EDGUN .

Edmund,

That really may be the ultimate pellet!

If you would send me some I’m sure everyone would be forever greatful.

Edmund,
I will have some Kodiak .22 this weekend for testing.

FYI the JSB .22 are 15.8 and 18.1 gr. The .25s are 25.4 gr.

I hope to have more numbers from different reg pressures today.

Jim

Jim,
AHhhhh…I read about the JSB 25.4 gr. and bought 600 JSB .22 😳 Caliber 25.4 gr.
So JSB makes BOTH .22 & .25 in the 25.4 gr.
I’ll send you a tin of .22 caliber 25.4 gr. JSB’s to test if you think the Reg can get them moving to optimum velocity, what ever that is.

Thanks,
Edmund

I agree Lurker but we’re all guilty of doing it in one form or another. For instance, just now, you didn’t list your objectives. Lol.

SS, you made my point 🙂 🙂 I figured someone would wonder just what caliber, barrel length, Bottle, valve, etc I am interested in. Thanks.

MM (Jim), You are an very busy person and it amazes me how much you do for anyone that asks. I know the task of customer satisfaction is dauntingly huge. As I complete my first year in airguns I still haven’t settled on one pellet and I still haven’t found the best velocity of any given pellet. I’ve heard so much about .22 x 21.14 Kodiaks and 970 fps that I would like to have a Reg and E-TaC that would give me that for starters. And/Or JSB .22 x 25.4 grains that I believe I’ve heard are most accurate at about 950 fps. Please correct me if I’m wrong…

Your customer satisfaction policy sounds great! I will be giving you my order shortly.

Thanks,
Edmund

I started to make the Summary chart and realized the gravity of my situation: 244 possible combinations of pellet, caliber, barrel length, and psi.

I’ve got 29 done.

I know you guys want 2000psi for the 25 cals so that will be next.
Then .177 for the FT guys.

This could take a while.

Jim

Condor 24″” barrel , 48ci tank . 2200 psi reg .22 cal JSB 18g . 980 fps + or – 5 fps
,
Condor 24” barrel . 48 ci tank . 2500 reg . 25 cal JSB 25g . 965 fps + or – 5 fps ,
Both incredibaly accurate

Hey Lurker #1,

First off, I want you to know you CANNOT make the wrong choice. Customer satisfaction is my first concern. If you get a reg and E-TaCREG from me and it doesn’t perform to your requirements, you can exchange it for one that does. (I’d appreciate if you didn’t mash it with a hammer before you send it back.:P:P:P)

I’ll post a comprehensive table shortly.

Jim

Almost bought a couple of times but re-reading some posts I get confused as to what caliber people are talking about.

I wish each post included the ALL the pertinent information.

OR

Maybe someone could post a side-by-side comparison.

I’ll be here on the fence until I’m sure I won’t make a wrong choice.

Guys,

Considering the myriad combinations of hammers, springs, valve-jobs et al, it would be hard for me to recommend a certain tophat setting that will work for all.

But this was a stock Condor so you should be able to repeat my results.

I did the second string using my own technique of maxing out the PW and slowly raising the tophat until there is very little to no velocity increase. Once the velocity levels out, you’re just wasting air waiting for the valve to close.

I REALLY had the tophat out on the first string and the shot count suffered due to the wasted air.

I hope to have some Kodiaks this weekend for testing.

OK, boys.

Used two different tophat settings. 24″ 22cal 2000psi output AF bottle JSB 15.8 lubed with FP10

Setting 1: 33 shots ave 996fps SD: 6.7
998
1003
1004
1001
1002

Setting 2: 24″ 22cal 2000psi output AF bottle JSB 15.8 lubed with FP10
51 shots at 970fps ave. SD: 4.5
976
973
971

Not sure what TH settings he used but looks about right SAVAGESAM

Also, am I guessing right that the 2K reg. is the ticket for the 24″ .22 Cal. and 21.1 Gr. Kodiaks?
