Q:

WARNING: Do You Own A FrankEdstein EdGun?

To the airgun community:

I believe this is a necessary post here because of the poor business ethics that Dr. FrankEdstein poses on the airgun community. Your investment is at risk here. Notice I said ‘IS’ at risk because it certainly is.

Here’s my take on the situation. I believe and with good cause that Ed is after only one thing and that is your money. He doesn’t stand behind his product but most of the ass-kissers on here think that he does. How quickly we forget about the fiasco we had regarding the damaged guns being delivered and no resolution in sight for that issue. It took this forum to post a ‘sticky’ and many months before the resolution was in place. In my books, that is not customer service.

Here is the thread you all seem to have forgotten:
http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=24031

Moving right along here, there are many of us who own FrankEdsteins! What is a FranEdstein? It is a cobbled together Edgun using left over parts from other models with new parts to create the illusion of a new model. Were we ever notified of this incarnation? No, none of us were but Ed sold them to us while he moved out old inventory which he could no longer sell. This is fact gentlemen. They were having difficulty selling singe shot Edguns because the multi-shot was being released and they wanted the same money for the single shot as they did for the multi shot. Greed!

So what is a FrankEdstein?

There was an over abundance of R3’s in stock which are single shot guns. What they did was take the gun assembly and remove the single shot capability and then added a new multi-shot upgrade to the single shot gun and put this into a new R3M wood stock. The single shot gun assembly is shown in photo #1 below without the cut-out for the magazines.

The new genuine multi-shot R3M is shown in photo #2 which clearly shows the cut-outs for the magazines.

Now, ask yourself this question: if you want a multi-shot, which model do you want? Obviously model #2 because it has the space for the magazines and was manufactured for this purpose. Would you want a multi-shot with the single shot frame and no place to put the magazines? Of course not, especially since there is a model that has the cut-outs.

Well gentlemen, we all invested $2k in these FrankEdsteins and which model do you think will hold resale value and be more in demand? Certainly not the Model #1.

Were we told about this? Were we offered the opportunity to make a choice? Was there even a slight discount for the Model #1 because it was a FrankEdstein? The answers are No, No and No!

I’m sure some of the ass-kissers own FrankEdsteins and they’re probably thrilled and proud to be able to own the FrankEdstein.

To illustrate Dr. FrankEdstein’s contempt and arrogance to the airgun community we post some of his comments below for your reading pleasure:

Mr. Ed stated, that he has“the right to change everything in the gun without noticing the clients”! And then he adds more BS as long as “the changes are pointed to improve the gun”!

He really means as long as the changes are pointed to improve Ed’s financial wealth.

Mr. Ed is a disgrace not to mention highly unethical and dishonest. Let me explain…

Mr. Ed does have the right to change the gun and he does have the right to run his business his way but he does not have the right to take advantage of his clients nor does he have the right to be sneaky as he is. Honest, respectful and ethical businessmen would notify the client that a new model is also available and offer the client the choice. Offering the client, the choice is not in Mr. Ed’s best interest because he needed to move out single shot assemblies! And, he see’s nothing wrong with clients being frustrated; read on and you’ll see my point.

He then has the audacity to state, “can you imagine how the last buyers of single shot Matadors were frustrated when they saw in a couple of weeks that someone got multi shot Matador for the same price”.

And, he sees nothing wrong with that and has the audacity to publish it.

He doesn’t care as long as whatever you do puts money in his pocket and as long as it is best for Ed.

Friends: once you fork over the hard cold cash, you are on your own. To this, Dr. FranEdstein counters with I will refund you if the gun is in ‘new condition’. No one has a new gun 10 minutes after they open the box. In my case, I put a rail on the stock for a bipod and Dr. FrankEdsteing knows that we all do this. Dr. FrankEdstein knows this and as such his ‘refund’ is hollow. He did offer a refund for the gun assembly minus the stock which is unacceptable because I have no use for the stock. He sold me a FrankEdstein gun with cocking and indexing issues. It is a bastard gun. I own 4 Edgun’s. All previous models were fine so I expected this one to function properly as well. It did not and as such the manufacturer has the responsibility to refund in full as no other guns are available. If you get a good gun, great but I’m the living proof that if there is an issue, you are on your own.

FrankEdstein guns anyone?

WE’LL CALL THIS MODEL #1

WE’LL CALL THIS ONE MODEL #2

So how does everyone think Airforce would handle a situation like this?

Lets say you bought a condor. Drilled a hole in the frame to mount a sling stud and then found out the gun did not cycle properly.

When you contact Airforce how do you think they would handle the situation?

I undersdtand what your saying but thats not the case here. MG was the first (in this shipment) to get his gun and post a review. He said he shot over 300 rounds thru it that day and it shot fine. Accuracy was off at first but came around and he even said he sees it shooting as well as his single shots. He mentioned 2 issues, one being that with 3 of the pellets in the mag being exposed he was worried that they could fall out and they even did on 2 or 3 occasions. The second issue was a stiff bolt. He never mentioned anything about cycling or indexing issues. It wasnt until several others (myself included) mention a potential indexing issue that he even mentioned that and even then it was only when he also noticed his R3M didnt have the indexes for storing the magazine.

Eds is not an American company so no Im not shocked when the customer service doesnt meet my expectations as an American. Ed’s offer to replace the gun minus the cost of the stock seemed fair enough, not a total victory but a partial.

Ed,

Thanks for continuing to stay here on this forum for the rest of us Edgun fans.

I appreciate my Edguns and what you have done to make these.

We don’t care at all really. This forum was opened because the members wanted a place to discuss bull pups without all the censorship of other forums.

If we nuked this forum it would be fine with me and the other Admin here.

The only reason I even am reading this forum is because of the current drama. :12:

ED,

Let’s put this to bed. Make it right even if it cost u a stock.

You didn’t understand, the point is not money for stock or the gun, I can easily spend money to satisfy the client, but not in this particulary case, even if it would cost me total ignorance from the American customers. I never ever allowed anybody to behaive with me such a way, so I have no intention to make any exclusion.

As for me banned at Yellow — great, I think TAG administraion is happier by that fact, more people will come here. We used to have very popular forum at airgun.ru it was very vivid, there were many clever and interesting people unless the new administrator decided to force everybody to follow his point of view, half a year and forum died 🙂

Customers are always right. Really?

Go into a restaurant, show some bad attitude with abrasive words to the waiter/waitress or a chef, guess what may be in your plate or drink?

Go to a garage for a car repair, guess what may happen to your car?

Go to a dentist, he may accidentally extract a few of your good teeths.

Just a thought

JohnP

It may be but look at sears for instance… Break a tool. No ? Asked they replace it. Can’t say about airforce. But. Rapid air weapons customer service is the best it gets. If a company is not gonna back up there product I don’t want anything to do with them. The customers is what keeps ed afloat.

This whole issue is not about eds guns. It’s how he handles issues that come up.

ED,

Let’s put this to bed. Make it right even if it cost u a stock.

MG.

WHAT IS IT GONNA TAKE TO LET THIS GO. How would u like to resolve this?

They will send you to hell and refund a tons of shit to you……

i am totally understand that MG has an issue but he could go with other way other than this way …. i am not telling you that you are wrong or correct this is your life and you choice …. always there are a good way to go though … isn’t it?

but as Brother Trygve has mentioned the only thing that will separate or give a specialty to Eduard (this is my very personal opinion) that having Eduard around here or there ….

You are clearly a mental, deluded idiot.

You look like an absolute fool, take a step back and read what you are writing.

First of all, the word nor can not be used without neither, so I suggest you re-visit some high school English material before childishly telling others how the words have to be spelled.

Second of all, it all seems clear that you have a personal agenda against Ed, his products or both, and that you feel like ranting baselessly about your self-imposed misfortune on several forums is the way to go. May be so if you are an internet troll or trying to cope with a psychological disorder.

Third, by the name of your thread, your “blind followers,” “Ed is a liar,” and several other ignorant and arrogant comments of yours, I can tell that you are the immature one, not the ones whose pro-EdGun responses got quickly deleted by hard working Yellow moderators. How hypocritical, real class. Say something about FX and they will love you forever. Why don’t you re-post this very thread entirely there for a full, unmolested, and honest picture? That’s right, you can’t. Your catchy pseudo-facts, glossing over actual information and being completely oblivious to what others are saying speak volume about your inability to listen and learn.

So, “over abundance of R3s,” eh? How many is that, 10, 100, 1000, 10,000? First-hand knowledge, huh? You speak Russian? You know Ed or Tony personally? You’ve seen what this one-man “factory” looks like? Now, Ed might be trying to chew a bit more than he can swallow without proper CS, parts and warranty channels, I don’t know, but if there was a perfect airgun, no one would ever send his $2,000 Theoben or $2,500 Steyr to AZ for tuning!

This kind of nonsense happens all the time on the Internet; as long as there is one unhappy Joe, an army of happy fans don’t matter. So yeah, follow your own stellar advice and get a life.

Hello, Hello, Hello, Testing, Testing…..

Let me know when you get your head out of Ed’s ass so we can have a discussion.

Listen asshole — the gun was flawed. It did not work properly. It did not index properly. What part of that can’t you comprehend?

Geesh – how many assholes are on here who cannot understand that the gun was flawed and accept that Ed is not perfect and these things happen and Ed’s customer service sux which is well known and documented on here.

Now, please go to eBay and get a life as they sell them on there.

P.S. Ed is banned over on the yellow for good cause. Because of incidents like this for one and for the fact that he is a blood sucker and only takes from the hobby and puts nothing back in via supporting it.

And you have the stones to call Ed a liar? I know for a fact that there were no single shots left when the production of multi shots started. My batch was even before your batch and I had a customer that wanted a single shot but Ed could not supply me with one… now if he had an abundance of single shot actions he had removed why would he not offer me one of these? Simple… you are talking shit to push your case and con people to take your side..

I have to agree with Wing here. When the breech on my SS blew up in March 2013 i went for a Warranty replacement – which i also got three to four months later – and by that time i told Ed that i rather want a single shot but he told me that there won´t be any available since they´ll only produce MS´s for a good while. That says ,at least to me , that there wasn´t any single shots to be found at that time so i don´t see the lying anywhere.
When i finally received the MS it wasn´t to my liking so i sold it to Dr. Evil who, after much work, turned it to a smoothly functioning unit. I´ve always said the best of the R3´s were the SS with that steel breech and i still claim the same.

I get MG´s point too. I´m familiar with his colorful ways of expressing matters so i´m not a bit shocked here but i think this thread ,again ,is leading nowhere.

We’ll sign me up for the parts cause my gun rocks like a boat…and I have to use velcro across the front of the gun to keep it steady.
