The EDgun regulator is one of the best in the world. It is straightforward and efficient. The regulator is capable of almost 1 FPS extreme spread. Wingman did an excellent video where he showed that variation is caused by external factors, not the regulator. So the Huma advantage comes from its low profile, this gives more volume in the plenum. I would put it on par with the Edgun regulator regarding efficiency

In the standard, the speed I can achieve realistically is 790 to 810 with the Huma and 34s. The long will hit about 830 max. I don’t like the current set up, and I would like to run the regulator at 120 and get speeds of 880 in the long with 34s. I have some ideas how to do it, and Wingman is going to help.

So be patient I am working on a solution to get more speed and not redline the capability of the Matador

Something is off in your gun. All the hammer weights have been CNC, so they weigh the same

Do you think that little difference in TP size is the reason? I made the measurements with a digital gauge FYI.

.25 = 5.8 mm

It looks like you are using a pretty low BC at .033, at least compared to other reports I’ve seen for the .25 heavies. The reports I’ve seen have been more in the .05-.055 range (but lower for ST barrels). My guess is that your speed is actually a bit lower. The first time I tried to do a chrony session with the new kit, I had bad lighting and was getting mostly errors but the readings I did get were 920s to 930s. I did a session this morning with good light with no errors and got an average of 892. But I haven’t tried to actually calculate a BC yet, so I could be wrong.

My transfer port on air tube side is 5.6mm and transfer port on breech side is 5.3mm.

Do you have a stock or aftermarket HST? Measure the length of valve rod you have protruding from the rod bushing.

My chronograph is terrible and may be off… I did get 3 readings. The trajectory definitely follows the chairgun reticle though.

Can you measure your TP sizes for me?

I installed the kit in my .25 long and got just a little time to check it out. With no tuning, just installing the new plenum kit and leaving the hammer spring exactly as it was gave me 892fps avg, SD of 5. The ES was higher than ideal at 19, but I’m pretty sure I could get more fps and lower ES with some tuning if I ever get time to do that. Regulator is set at ~130bar. Pellets impacted higher and to the right than previously, which I guess makes sense with a higher speed and a right hand twist.

I have been out of town on business all week. My 34s arrived while I was out. Just finished a tuning and shooting session with the .25 R3M STD with the power plenum kit.

For the folks who have already installed one of these kits, where did you end up with you hammer spring? Was it tighter/looser/about the same as your setting w/o the larger plenum?

That hammer spring manners, imagine you cut four coils off the spring. I have done this for the UK market. I have found these slight variations manner on the gun. It is all about dwell time and the amount of force required to obtain the valve dwell time.

The short requires more reg pressure 140 to 145, this will sling the 34s at about 885 in the short
